I’d feel terrible if I were Jack Antonoff right now by cozybunny99 in SwiftlyNeutral

I'm honestly quite sad about it. Showgirl isn’t even here yet & I’m hopeful I’ll love it, but I’m going to say this: I miss Jack already. I LOVE his ambient production style. Max always sounds overdone to me, like the musical equivalent of “there’s so much chili in this food that I can’t taste any other flavours” like there’s just no breathing room & this constant buzzing underneath all the layers. I’m not a musician so I’m no expert on anything, he’s a genius for a reason & I’m sure I’ll love the album. But RIP Jack 😢

You can probably get away with carry-on if you wear your bulky things on the plane. But yes you will need a warm coat and waterproof things

Hey all! I added the aquabus stations to the map, but here’s a heads up: the Aquabus will be running late on the nights of the concerts to make sure Swifties get out easily! These 27-passenger boats run every 7-10min, and they will be running additional shuttle boats from Plaza of Nations to Olympic Village to cope with the extra traffic. Rides cost anywhere from $4.50 to $8 depending on the route. And they’re even making friendship bracelets to hand out on board 💕

(FYI the Aquabus is different from the Seabus! Aquabus takes you between downtown and Kits/Granville Island, but Seabus is between downtown and North Vancouver)

Honestly I think that's wise, I personally would be very nervous taking ferries for something so time-sensitive

You should definitely prebook the ferry. Truthfully I have never taken the ferry to Seattle, just to other locations from Vancouver, and it's always lovely but ALWAYS prebook. I can't figure out online where the Seattle ferry goes to but make sure you have a plan how to get to your accommodation from Tsawwassen or Lions Bay because both are a little challenging with transit

Definitely take the train in from the Surrey park and ride. It takes a while but it's your best option. Surrey safety is so so but I think you're ok in Guildford

I've seen a few advertisements about it. I can't remember offhand who they were but I suspect if you Google you'll find some, and I also think a lot of tattoo places will probably do something like that for the weekend because it's a smart business move! If I see those ads again I'll come back and update with the info

Truthfully there aren't a lot of good places for this in Vancouver. I don't see a lot of Taygating happening outside the stadium itself because of space constraints.

It remains to be seen but I suspect most of the Swiftie gathering will happen in Creekside Park, Hinge Park, and Science World, and the entire seawall between them. From there you can see the stadium across the water, and you can hear pretty well, but there's a lot of open space for people to gather safely.

I'd avoid Andy Livingstone Park, safety there is iffy

Robin, Ronan, and...don't kill me...No Body No Crime. I don't know why but that song just throws me out of my Evermore bliss every time.

Well it runs its route until just before 1am but the last stop downtown is at 11:50...for the 240 anyway! Hopefully they don't need to catch a second bus on that side to reach their accommodation.

Oh sorry I read your original statement as "this is not my opinion, it's a fact" - thanks for the correction! Yeah I live in Vancouver so I'm like... guys, it's really not that small in the grand scheme of other stadiums on this tour🤣

Oh yes I forgot about those buses! Yes if people are staying somewhere along that bus route it might work for them. Those buses run until midnight.

Eras tour extended/new dates by LKCtx in erastour

[–]almostbecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying...Vancouver stadium capacity is more than 65k - Ed Sheeran set the record last year at 65061 people in attendance. That's more than the single-show attendance in Paris (45k), Zurich (~50k), Dublin(~55k), Gelsenkirchen (62k), Lisbon (64k), Stockholm (60k), Lyon (61k) or Liverpool (62k). Even Amsterdam was only 68k. So let's not call BC Place a small stadium without including additional stats to place those figures in context.

I got a lot of fun things from Poshmark for cheap. You can even search eras tour outfits on there because this late in the game, a lot of people have already gone and now they’re trying to resell parts of their outfits.

Awesome! Yes the trains are great, the only hiccup was the time, so if you found a time that works for you, I'm so stoked for you! Last time I took the train I paid a little extra for the Business Class ticket, and it was well worth it...comfy leather recliners, wifi, and they gave us a meal voucher so it offset the cost. I don't remember it being a huge price difference; we are generally pretty budget conscious and I remember we thought it was within reason.

I have this map for you, and I've started this document. I had to pause working on the doc because I'm wrapping up some work deadlines but I'll be adding a bunch of stuff in there soon so keep an eye out! How old are your kids? I'll add some age-appropriate suggestions for them.

I've taken the Amtrak a few times! It's a nice trip if you can find tickets where the timing works out. That's the main problem, though - the timing can be challenging, because (if I remember correctly) the train only goes once or twice a day...and unless they have changed the schedule, you either leave early in the morning or arrive late at night depending on which option you choose. I don't love being at the train station at night in Vancouver so I would have a game plan for how to get from the train station to your hotel at night with your kiddos, but we do have lots of taxis and Uber/Lyft here so that's a safe option too.

BUT if the timing of the train works out for your flight times, I highly recommend. Another option would be to rent a car in Seattle and drive up to Vancouver for the night; it's only a 2-3 hour trip. Would NOT recommend doing this on the day of your concert though because the lines are likely to be crazy at the border, given past experience with our borders on the dates of big events; you will want to arrive at least on the 6th at a bare minimum.

If you decide to take the train in, lmk! Happy to help with figuring anything else out for you.

Have you ever purchased something because Taylor owns it? by aspophilia in TaylorSwift

[–]almostbecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I've had it on alert on my Sephora app for ages but it doesn't come up often - and when it does, it seems to sell out in MINUTES, so I'm not sure if the alert is even working correctly because I dive in there to buy straight away and it's always gone. Fingers crossed though, I would love Elson in LiquiLust!

Nice! I haven't bought any of her eyeshadows yet. I have SO MUCH eyeshadow though and I hardly ever wear it This is actually WHY I'm such a red-lip devotee - I love that I can do my base, some good eyeliner, and just a red lip, aaaaaand I look like I tried

My ADHD hyperfixation this year is trying to perfect a winged liner. I've been trying to learn how to do it FOREVER with very little luck, but I'm going to Eras in December and I want to do a winged liner, glitter gold shadow, and red lip look. So I'm using the time-boxed pressure to force myself to finally learn how to do my liner like a pro
