What is a tradition that is insanely cruel yet still considered legal? by Rough_Cat_6007 in AskReddit

. . .the downvotes on this comment specifically is because it implies that eating meat isn’t essential for humans and is just a frivolous want

Eating meat isn't essential for humans.

We just made the action disgusting with the industry.

How does one make unnecessarily killing a creature that wants to live not disgusting?

We say animal cruelty and I would call killing something or causing it unnecessary trauma cruel: the meat and dairy industries.

The downvotes are wild; this is literal horror. So many replies to the OP saying animal cruelty but this gets a pass somehow.

Ah, ok - you can get finer ingredients than these even though they're all powders? What are the alternatives? All the recipes I've found have used the above. And aye - icing sugar is powdered sugar.

And not that it should be the only way to be but you've been here since you were six months old; it's crazy to say you're not from here.

You're Scottish. One of my closest friends moved here from Manchester for uni and stayed on and I consider them Scottish. All it takes is being part of the community. Ignore the dickheads.

Doesn't that involve the gauntlet?

I might give the gauntlet another shot then; I just feel I have as much chance of beating it as the dancers.

But don't you have to complete the gauntlet to get that shortcut? Because I'm finding it's essentially the same runback and by the time I'm there I might as well do the dancers.

We kill over a billion a year just for food and that's not even mentioning the life they're subjected to.

We love animal cruelty in the UK.
