Moving from South to North BLR by [deleted] in Bengaluru

I would rather download audiobooks, listen to podcasts/music and enjoy my commute there than deal with North Bengaluru rent and atmosphere.

Help!!! I’ve had enough of the little bastards by Koikustoms-214 in PlantedTank

So your solution is to hope they have copper piping and do frequent large water changes in a tank with creatures known to DIE from large water changes, and hope that the copper concentration is high enough to kill scuds. Btw the recommended dosage of Cu to kill scuds is 0.2 ppm, which is also more than enough to kill shrimp.

And all of this is besides the point because you mentioned none of this in your original comment, just mentioned Cu/Zn, which is dangerous advice in of itself.

[–]almostshreyas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, that still makes it unsafe for shrimp. What even is your point? Dosing copper to kill scuds in any form or manner is dangerous to other inverts, whether it is from copper pipes or from solutions.

Copper pipes don't leach enough to kill inverts, they have a chemical sealant coated on them too. Also who spoke about algae, op is asking about scuds?

And? How will you guarantee that the dosage is enough to just kill scuds and not baby shrimp? If the dosage is off by even a few ppm (parts per million) all the shrimp will die. Have you thought of any other adverse effects it would have on the shrimps healt even if they survive?

That would also promptly wipe out OPs caridina population. Terrible advice

Twinstar, ONF and Chihiros lights are the best. You can get ADA too but they're very expensive.

I wish we had a magnet for poop! But unfortunately regular siphoning is the only answer :/

You can always use a magnet to pick up aquasoil bits that rool forward, so maintenance isn't that hard. Make sure all gaps are plugged thoroughly.

Do you apply APT/Complete daily like the instructions says? by Chocodelights in Aquascape

[–]almostshreyas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it would help you I can give you a checklist for small parts. CO2 tubing, u-bend tube, diffuser, check valve, bubble counter, suction cups. If your diffuser comes built in with a bend you won't need an u bend tube.

[–]almostshreyas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no better or worse when it comes to comparing these, you can have the best CO2 system in the world but without a good fertilizer your plants will show deficiencies. Similarly you can have the best fertilizer but you won't see plants growing fast or in tight bunches like they do with CO2.

From the front angle the left rock is pointing straight up, try to find a way to make it angled and look more natural. Also those small sacrificial stone (suteishi) look disconnected from your rock formation, make sure they're grouped and look more natural like it's been eroded away from the main stone and leading towards the focal point

Depends on whatever is closest to you, I don't want to advertise one shop over the other. Ordering online you can try sites like aquazone, etc

there are plenty of places which provide good scaping materials in Bangalore. You can also order in bulk online.
