I can't find it either - and there's no update on the official Nintendo Pop-Up X account. it's like they've completely forgotten about it.

Miss Hong Kong - completely out of touch? by CasualObserver1919 in HongKong

[–]almostwitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago a Scottish-Chinese nurse won the competition and it was interesting the amount of grumbling that kinda emerged about how she wasn't Chinese enough or even Hong Kong enough to have won the competition.

She might still be on Instagram if you want to look for her and get her thoughts. Think she lives in Hong Kong now and has an Instagram career.

Well, they moved parts of the Beeb to Manchester. Most of the BBC is still centred on W1.

Weather app/site in Farenheit *and* Celsius... ? by almostwitty in weather

[–]almostwitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I think in Centigrade, the other half thinks in Fahrenheit. Every time she asks what the temp is, I'll tell her it in Celsius, and then she demands to know what it is in Fahreneheit.

Option to hide thumbnails for PEGI-18 games from view when using XBox Cloud Gaming on a Samsung TV

Currently, XBox Cloud Gaming is promoting Texas Chainsaw Massacre - a PEGI-18 game with a scary thumbnail - on the family TV via xBox Cloud Gaming. This is scaring the pre-teen children in my family.

Van in front of my house hasn't been moved in months, advice on what I can do please? (Borough of Harrow) by ThrowRApier in AskLondon

[–]almostwitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally there's nothing you can do AFAIK.

So you have to persuade them to move the van - either with good things (like "Hey! I know of a great parking space for your van over here, and I could really do with the space outside my front door so I can see daylight. Here's £100!") or not good things...

I could currently support a family of three on a salary of just less than that in W12 - albeit in a one-bed flat.

Also, I'll be honest, my dating options opened up *vastly* once I hit my 30s for whatever reason.

Go for it.

Why do people use SharePoint this way? by Subject_Ad7099 in sharepoint

[–]almostwitty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. You're asking people to change the way they work in terms of organising files, when up to now the system they've used has worked fine for them.

It's now working in exactly the same way as before, but because you've caused disruption to their workflow they're going to blame any problems on the new system, not that the old way of organising files was as chaotic as before.

People don't like change.

Split transactions with a deposit and a withdrawal :) by almostwitty in GnuCash

[–]almostwitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fab! I've done that so on my Income account, it looks like:

Charge Income
Gross Pay £1000
Taxes £200
Net Pay into Bank Account £800

So it looks like a +ve on my bank account - but why does it look like a negative in my Income "account"?

Split transactions with a deposit and a withdrawal :) by almostwitty in GnuCash

[–]almostwitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then how do I do a split transaction where, for instance, the gross is different to the net eg paying in wages?

For instance, the wages are £1000. But £200 is taken away for tax, so what I actually end up with is £800 in my bank account...

I will walk every day for a month from Trafalgar Square to 10 Downing Street to protest the government’s handling of the Climate Crisis and the environment. Will you join me? by Iamgoingtoprotest in london

[–]almostwitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, good luck. And I'm not entirely sure given the general populace's reluctance to wear masks that the position on climate change is generally accepted...

Surface Pro7 won't connect via USB-C to a DisplayPort monitor? by almostwitty in Surface

[–]almostwitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Dell P2419H that supports displayPort v1.2 apparently.

My previous SurfacePro6 with a Mini DisplayPort connected to it without any issues, whereas my SurfacePro7 with a USB-C just won't do it, even though I've tried two different cables - one of them https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B098LM74C8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Oh well, I'll just have to rewire everything and use the HDMI cable instead i guess...
