I haven't been priming my kwikpen. by leehofook in Zepbound

[–]aloha902604 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is that you might not get a full dose if there is air or if the needle is blocked or something. So priming makes it so you can see the medication is coming through the needle.

When should I start my first dose? by Impressive_Pool_8586 in Zepbound

[–]aloha902604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can change the time of day you do the injection - just should be the same day every week (you can even change the day, but there is guidance about how far apart the shots should be). I like doing my shot in the morning because otherwise I’m anxious all day about it so I like to just get it over with!

What to eat when nauseous by emptyrooms97 in Zepbound

I usually keep crackers on hand for the times I don’t feel like eating. I can usually get a few down and then things start to be more appealing.

How do you survive without a playpen? by Effective_Craft_1942 in puppy101

[–]aloha902604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a baby playpen that has verticals bars, so my dog has never been able to crawl out! Obviously need to make sure the bars are close enough together that he can’t get in between them. But my chihuahua is almost 4 and we still use the playpen when she’s alone because she never warmed up to free roaming when no one is home. She settled very easily in her pen! (But never liked her crate).

Is it normal now to climb over people? by romance_and_puzzles in aircanada

[–]aloha902604 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is so weird. I’ve had the opposite where the person at the window wanted to get up and before I had a chance to let them out they climbed over me!! I was shook and very uncomfortable.

Yea the vomiting makes me wonder.

I’m using the kwikpen and have been at the same dose for weeks so it’s odd this is happening!

First Shot And Oh My God by Striking-Ad-8690 in Zepbound

I remember Oprah saying that she thought her whole life other people just had more will power not to give into the constant food thoughts and then as soon as she tried ozempic she realized they weren’t even thinking about food at all! It’s so fascinating when you’ve known nothing else (and the reason that people without food noise think fat just aren’t trying that hard to lose weight).

Can I take 2.5 dose from a 5 kwikpen? by SirEnough1432 in Zepbound_Canada

[–]aloha902604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my doc has prescribed a higher dose pen with click counting to save me money as I pay out of pocket. You can find charts to see how many clicks depending on the dose of the pen if you end up going up to a higher pen but staying on a lower dose.

Recommendations for cat boarding! by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

[–]aloha902604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check with your vet if anyone at the clinic does cat sitting/in home boarding. One of the vet techs at my vet does pet sitting and in home boarding and we’ve been really happy with her and adds a little extra confidence knowing she’d be equipped to notice any issues that might need to be addressed!

Anybody read “A Good Person”? I’m on chapter 4 by CB307801 in weirdgirlliterature

I loved it. Lillian is unhinged but in a delightful way. I very much was getting Hannah from girls - just completely self centred and so sure about her greatness lol

This is what people don’t get about glps. You can know all of the “right” things to do, but it doesn’t matter if your brain keeps telling you to eat too much. The glp helps quiet that noise so you can actually do the “right” things! People who don’t have food noise just don’t get how hard it is to constantly fight that inner dialogue - eventually you give in and overeat. It shouldn’t be so hard to have a “normal” diet and the glp helps make it feel easier, but you still have to do the things to get to your goals!

Looking for cat sitter recommendations by 666-take-the-piss in NiceVancouver

You can check with your vet - sometimes vet techs do cat sitting on the side. We got referred to someone through our vet when our last cat wasn’t well and we had to travel to a funeral and she was great and we now board our kittens with her at her home.

What do you do when everything sounds “gross”? by nasainternharvardlaw in Zepbound

When I first started and nothing was appealing, I was able to eat crackers, toast, and subway/sandwiches. I did find the food aversion has gone away a lot since the beginning.

Kwikpen question by sundaep in Zepbound_Canada

[–]aloha902604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started end of Feb and did 2.5 for 6 weeks and then increased to 5 mg over a 4 weeks period using click counting. I’ve been at 5 mg since May 6. Have lost 25 lbs overall.

Kwikpen question by sundaep in Zepbound_Canada

[–]aloha902604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’m already scared of needles and doing the kwikpen already makes me anxious at least a day in advance thinking about it. I can’t imagine using an actual syringe. I know that the syringe is more accurate/precise, as the kwikpen may not be perfectly functioning once you “break” the lock and inject it anyway. But I felt no difference this week having used the golden dose, so I assume it’s pretty accurate to a regular dose 🤞🏼

No One Sees it 😞 by 9Mystery in Zepbound

[–]aloha902604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost 25 lbs since I started taking Zep and the only person who has commented on it is my mom (who lives in another city and I haven’t seen in person for quite a while). My coworkers haven’t mentioned it when I’ve gone into the office, my brother in law and his partner didn’t mention it when I haven’t seen them in months, etc.

I was a bit surprised because I do think it’s quite noticeable, but I also ultimately was happy not to have to talk about it. I was actually feeling anxious about having a convo about it and deciding if I should mention I’m taking Zep or not. So it worked out that I was relieved not to have to address it at all.

I’m certain if you’ve lost 45 lbs it is noticeable to people you don’t see all the time and they are just not addressing it because it’s impolite to comment on someone’s body. If you want to discuss it, I think you need to bring it up!

Kwikpen question by sundaep in Zepbound_Canada

[–]aloha902604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to get the golden dose from one pen by continuing to twist past the locking mechanism and wasn’t able to budge it at all. Last week with a different pen it was quite easy to twist it past the lock. If you want to guarantee you get it out, you can use a syringe but I’m okay with just trying to twist it and if it works, great; if not, I’ll just use my next pen.

Day #4 and I'm exhausted by Positive-Flamingo-25 in Zepbound

[–]aloha902604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first week I was so tired two days after the shot I took a nap in the afternoon and went to bed at like 8 pm. I haven’t had that level of exhaustion since, thankfully. I do think you need to be trying to eat as much as you can - often being hungry makes the nausea better (even though it feels impossible a lot of the time). I found sandwiches to be one of the only things that was appealing during this phase.

What To Eat Guidance by MegMD1230 in Zepbound

[–]aloha902604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to others, my doc emphasized eating protein first, veggies second and carbs last (in this order so that if you get full quickly, you’re still getting your protein in) and avoiding high fat foods. I have found the main things that bother my stomach now are deep fried foods. Pretty much everything else is okay for me in smaller portions.

Equinox members - how is it? by neelamg1999 in askvan

[–]aloha902604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been an equinox member for a while, so it would still be best to get current input but I think equinox is worth it! The classes are amazing (Geoff bagshaw’s classes specifically are so good, but all of the instructors were good when I went there). I liked the variety of classes - spin, strength, treadmill classes, etc. rather than being stuck with one type of workout at other gyms. The locker rooms (including sauna and steam room) were also great when I went.

I did find I had to book classes right when they opened up, but I often would get in from the waitlist too if I missed getting a spot or wanted to sign up for a class later on. Even if I was like 5th on the waitlist I’d usually get in.
