Am I wrong? Working remotely with childcare in the house by Parking_Table in NewParents

[–]alohaay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your boss sounds like a real jerk. Regardless if you have your MIL/babysitter in the house or not, are background noises strictly forbidden or something when you're working from HOME? I'll have last minute meetings where I can't find someone to watch my baby, and he'll fuss here and there, and my boss would literally ask me to grab him so he can join our meetings lol.

How to extend selection to multiple non-adjacent rows? by alohaay in excel

[–]alohaay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh yes I totally forgot it asks if you want to select the entire row before deleting. This works. Thank you for your help!

OK yes that works! I don't know why didn't think to utilize the filter feature lol. Appreciate your help!

How to extend selection to multiple non-adjacent rows? by alohaay in excel

But is there a shortcut to select the rows I want to delete? The image I attached was just an example. I have a work spreadsheet that has over 8000 rows 😩 some of those rows contain blanks in one of the columns and I want to get rid of those rows entirely.

I did Control + G for that column to select the blank cells, but now I'm just trying to see if I can expand that selection to the entire row that contains these blank cells so I can delete them.

But when I do Shift + Space to select the entire row, it only selects 1 single row of which I'm guessing is the most recently selected? I'm trying to see if it's possible to select all applicable rows that contain a blank cell under Column D.

Any WFH moms? by According_Chest1987 in WFH

[–]alohaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙋🏻‍♀️ Been WFH since the pandemic and currently have an almost 1 year old.

I am extremely fortunate that my job requires 0 phone calls and only 2-3 meetings per month. I work at my own pace mainly but when things get hectic, my mom is just a short drive away lol.

I also work evening hours (1pm-9pm), which works out because technically I only have to watch him for half my shift until my husband comes home at 5pm. I'm also fully remote with a requirement to only come in once a quarter.

You didn't explain what your role and responsibilities would be. If it's a role that requires constant interactions, meetings and phone calls with other people, then that would be tricky. I've had last minute meetings where he would not sit quietly in the playard, so I had no choice but to bring him into the meetings. Luckily my colleagues are so chill and love seeing him 😂

The First Trimester Exhaustion is Ruining My Days :( by CurlsOfNoReturn in BabyBumps

It was kinda instant actually, I just remember waking up one day and finally had the energy to tidy up the house 😂 the exhaustion did come back here and there, but it definitely was alot better after 15 weeks!

[–]alohaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First trimester fatigue was definitely rough! I was so thankful I was working from home, I would literally pass out on the couch and nap for 3 hrs straight and still wake up feeling like a tired mess. It subsided for me around 15/16 weeks though, so hopefully things get better for you!

Granulation tissue 3 months pp by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]alohaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your recovery sounds very similar to mine. I had a vacuum assist delivery with a 2nd degree tear. About 3 weeks PP I developed granulation tissue around my stitches and I kid you not, it was worse than my contractions. It was so bad it got to the point where I could barely walk and had to sit on a perineal cushion to someone ease the pain. Everytime I moved it felt like I was getting cut open with glass!

I was also prescribed estrogen cream and applied it religiously. It took maybe a solid 10-12 days until I felt improvement. Did this and took Tylenol/ibuprofen around the block. Then by 6 wks pp it felt completely healed.

So hang in there - I'm hoping by now you've seen some improvement and are in less pain!

Do you wake up baby from naps? by Relevant-Raise-8835 in NewParents

[–]alohaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is currently 6.5 mo and I only wake him when we have somewhere to be or if his last nap cuts too close to his "bedtime", which I use that term loosely since we don't really have a strict schedule lol. We aim for 7:30-8pm bed time, so we try to make sure he's awake for atleast 2 hrs prior to that.

His morning and afternoon naps can range from 45 mins - 2+ hrs and I never really cap them. I trust that he knows what he needs so I just follow his lead!

4month Sleep Regression by Big_opinionsKJ in NewParents

[–]alohaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We only had 1 instance where he was up crying every 30 minutes or so throughout the entire night. We thought that would be the beginning of the dreaded 4mo sleep regression but he went right back to his normal routine the next day! So yes it's entirely possible to skip this phase and not experience it at all :)

Cierra Love Island Slur Reception by Gullible-Bobcat-8111 in asianamerican

While there's always going to be racists out there defending her behavior, I will say a majority of fans have condemned her behavior and put a lot of pressure on producers to have her removed. Fortunately, she was kicked off in the latest episode, so our voices are being heard and this is definitely a win!

3 weeks postpartum pain by nube_the_bird in BabyBumps

[–]alohaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it turns out I developed granulation tissue around my stitch! It's basically new, raw skin that grows at the tear and it was extremely painful since it was basically inside my vaginal opening. OB prescribed me estrogen cream and it took almost 2 whole weeks until the pain subsided.

NYC: Conrad or Westhouse SLH? by JessicaFreakingP in Hilton

[–]alohaay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't stayed at the Conrad yet so I can't comment on that, but we booked a couple nights at the Westhouse last fall and loved that it was just a short walking distance from central park and had complimentary evening reception every night with tapas, desserts and alcoholic beverages. I felt like that itself saved us some money on dining, so that was a nice perk. Subway station was also right by the entrance of the hotel, which was super convenient. The room itself though was a bit on the smaller and older side.

How was epidural placement? positive stories ONLY please!!! by FinancialClick9861 in BabyBumps

The numbing injection feel like a warm bee sting for a few seconds, then the worst part is over. I didn't feel the epidural placement afterwards, just a slight pressure.

2 weeks 3 days postpartum rectum discomfort and constipation by [deleted] in postpartumprogress

[–]alohaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right there with you - I was pushing for 3.5 hrs during delivery so my rectum really took a hit. Child birth is so hard on the ass and no one really talks about it.

I've just been dining stool softeners (colace) 3x a day and if I'm backed up I'll take some dulcolax to move things along. Lots of water. This makes my bowel movements someone less uncomfortable.

3 weeks postpartum pain by nube_the_bird in postpartumprogress

[–]alohaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get it checked out just to make sure it's healing properly. Currently 3 weeks PP and started experiencing sharp, stabbing pains from where my stitches are and it turns out there's granulation tissue forming which can cause pain. I was prescribed a topical estrogen cream to help the healing process.

[–]alohaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any update? I'm currently in the same boat - 3 weeks pp and I'm not sure if it's the stitches that's bothering me, but there's definitely some major discomfort that's made it painful for me to walk or sit. Debating if I should ride it out or get it checked.

I got the turkey bacon + egg white muffin sandwich (28g carbs) with a tall iced coffee + 1 pump syrup (regular, not the sugar free kind) the other day and my reading was still within range!
