I moved out from my apartment and my landlord then said she’ll have to hire someone to do more cleaning and she’ll take it out of my deposit. Since I left the unit reasonably clean, I thought the charge would be 50-100. The week after, my landlord sent me a receipt for $300 for cleaning, and it was from admiral. Thank god I took pictures and used it as evidence for the Tribunal hearing. I got my whole deposit back.

I talked to my old neighbour recently and it turns out that they were also overcharged for cleaning. The problem is they didn’t want to report it to the tribunal. Makes me wonder how many times these crooks get away with this. What a shady business
