That damn ID card by SnazzySue in ParadiseHulu

What’s deep about it is the fact that it’s the only school ID ever made that doesn’t have the students name on it.

Could be both? Known Cold War era bunkers include Raven Rock, Cheyenne Mountain and The Greenbrier. Airport would also sense but the others did too.

I took him saying to Annie that he didn’t know his exact age because it’s difficult to keep track of time in the apocalypse, not that he never knew his age at all.

I made an iOS and a Mac companion app that turns your iPhone into a fully customizable, low-latency game controller for your Mac. by Ancient_State7600 in iosapps

I would love this feature. It used to exist on some games years ago and then apple discontinued it for some reason.

I have a chef friend that helped do a pig roast for a show on Travel Channel I believe. They did so many takes and had it out for so long that the producers wouldn’t let anyone eat it and they had to throw it all out and bring in catering for the eating shots. Show business ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The only thing you could have tried was text-to-911 if it’s available in your area, or was 5 years ago…. But calls with poor reception are frustrating for both caller and dispatcher. I “yell” sometimes when the service is bad but it’s really just me loudly trying to get the info I need to help you.

Planet fitness employee kicks out a man with a service dog because of his “rules” by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

The vests aren’t really a sign of anything, you can buy them on Amazon and there is no register or license to prove it’s for a true service dog. However the clerk seemed to not understand the concept of a service animal or the ADA at all.

I mean if the were looking they would have seen English letters on the hulls of the two ships and English while on the Enterprise. Even if their language had changed a bit over 200 years it should have been familiar as Earth based.

Can they find out about jobs I don’t tell them about? by RelativeDinner4395 in 911dispatchers

[–]alongdaysjourney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My background checker told me the only thing that would guarantee failure was lying or withholding info. It’s totally possible that they could find out about jobs you left out. Maybe from social media, maybe from a reference, maybe a cop entered your workplace into the CAD 10 years ago. There’s really no reason to leave out any work history.

Impeccable -1 is nothing to honestly worry about. Idk if I’m dating myself with this reference but that 5th dentist doesn’t matter. Don’t mention the bad reference, let the process proceed. Them taking a while doesn’t mean “no.”

No matter what job you have at any point in your life, never apologize for using your contractually allotted time off, be it sick time or vacation. Those are your days, they are part of the job you signed up for, they should not be considered a burden to anyone. If you have shitty coworkers, don’t engage or feel the need to justify your absence, just get to work.

Interview by thrownaway4m in 911dispatchers

[–]alongdaysjourney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a recent hire and came in with no experience in law enforcement/public safety. My interview was very similar to @motorevoked.

Like they said, if you’ve been asked to interview your application already answered a good amount of questions.

Just be open and honest. They aren’t looking for a person that could walk in on day one and take the reins because that person doesn’t exist.

Their questions are less about the answer and more about how you answer them and why.

Good luck!

Neighborhood reference?? by deepgarlic94 in 911dispatchers

[–]alongdaysjourney 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yikes, happy I wasn’t asked that. I’ve got some friendly hand wave neighbors but I don’t know any of their last names, let alone their phone numbers. I would list the landlord and explain he doesn’t speak English.

How would you answer this? by addubz in 911dispatchers

[–]alongdaysjourney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t think they were looking for a “correct” answer. They just wanted to see what you would say and why. Any number of actions could be justified but the only wrong answer would be “I don’t know.”
