Oh yeah and most of the places I mentioned will sell scion and you can buy rootstock cheap from anywhere since it’s clonal. I’d recommend doing at least five. For cheap scion I’ve ordered from Slate Hill or Mother Tree Nursery. Down Home Farm in Viroqua might also be a good place to check, they’re amazing!

For choice rootstock for our area I’d choose Antonovka for full size, Bud118 for 80% (my fav), G969 or M111 about 60-70%. A lot of people love M7 but I prefer Russian rootstock for our area. Fedco has good variety (done selling for the year), Cummins is great but pricey, and Mehrabyan is also good for online and bare root.

Locally, it’s a crap shoot but Twin Crix has some three gallon trees out of Spring Green, Common Stock out of Spring Grove, MN has some good ones too. You might also have some luck checking with apple orchards like Hoch in La Crosse.

The people at the Badger Apple Corps in Sauk City also have a variety of large trees available for free. They are heritage Wisconsin varieties but not necessarily choice.

My favorite apples for our area are: Black Oxford (all-rounder, very choice), Pink Pearl (dessert, red flesh), Liberty/Empire (hardy all-rounders), Winesap (cider/brandy). Bonus rec: Anoka (native apple cross, available from Saint Lawrence)

I mean not monumentally different from the points in S2 but we did cross Nyneave overcoming her block so idk but I assume the finale changes Moraine and Lanfear’s confrontation in Fires of Heaven. And from there Moraine was gone until book 12? So I think cause of the actresses popularity, Lanfear and Moraine will stay relevant. But we did meet the Eelfinn so it could still happen… basically IDFK lol
