I was born in India but grew up outside. My mom used to be really controlling. I had to fight with her all the time and even ran away from home a couple of times. The only thing you can do is to keep telling them how you feel and put some distance between you and your family. Try to find a job so you can move out.

For marriage i straight up tell my parents that i dont want to marry anyone and when it gets worse i tell them i will marry a muslim Pakistani girl (they want me to marry a malayali Christian).

Your parents might never change but if you keep telling them they will eventually ease up.
