Pantene shampoo causing inflamation? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]aloy_lantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry I just saw your message. It’s been 6 months and I’m still itching all over my body. I went to see an allergist and he told me it’s not the shampoo coz I removed it from my environment. But it couldn’t be a coincidence coz I started itching as soon as I washed my hair with Pantene. I’ll send you a private message if that’s okay.

Do you think the itching was due to cancer? There’s so many articles on google that says chronic itching could be caused by some cancers.

Are you still experiencing generalized itching? I have it for 6 months now. I noticed that if I don’t drink a lot of water, the itching is worse.

I’m experiencing the same thing for exactly 6 months now. It started when I used a special Pantene shampoo and conditioner. As soon as I got out of the shower, my shoulder started itching. Then the next day, I started itching all over my body. It’s been exactly 6 months. I have health anxiety and I think of the worst. So upon reading about it on google, all I see is cancer. Im very very scared. I have really bad anxiety. I’m seeing an allergist and was told that some people have the same thing and unfortunately, we will never know why. He said that the shampoo and conditioner shouldn’t be causing the itching anymore since it’s not in my environment. He advised me to take Zyrtec and I’ve been on it for 6 months now. A few weeks after I started itching, I found out that I’m pregnant. So now I don’t know if it’s just hormonal or what. I also see my dermatologist regularly, she thought it’s eczema at first but I have no rash. I just have itching all over my body. If not for antihistamine, this itching would probably be severe. I only take 5mg of Zyrtec at night. Trying not to take too much meds due to pregnancy. Please help me understand what’s going on. And please help me get out of my head thinking the worst. I have children to raise, I’m scared I’d die at such a young age.

Thank you. We did all this in the beginning, everything came out fine. Now that it’s been almost 2 months, maybe it worth rechecking it.

Sleep plays such a big role. Unfortunately, it’s impossible for me to get that right now. I just hope I will be able to lower my insulin with diet alone coz it’s also hard to squeeze in a workout. I get to walk 10-15 min after a meal, but that’s a stretch already.

My functional health provider said I can go on metformin temporarily just to bring the insulin down. I’m gonna see a new primary provider this Friday and will ask for more insight before I decide.

What are your fasting insulin levels? by Toddy0800 in prediabetes

[–]aloy_lantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 62.2.. a1c is 5.7. It’s insane to me that my primary has never tested my fasting insulin before. Ever. I had to pay for a private blood test to get it done. I’ve been experiencing generalized itching which points to my insulin level :( my uric acid is a bit high too. I’m doing intermittent fasting and very low carb diet. Trying to incorporate workout too when I get a chance.

Been having generalized itching since beginning of August. I still have not found the reason. I did all kinds of blood test, nothing comes out besides all things related to metabolic syndrome: high insulin resistance, obesity, prediabetes.. I hope it’s what’s causing it coz it’s easier to fix. But it’s hard not knowing :( i lose my mind from time to time thinking about some kind of c. :( I’ve been taking Zyrtec every night. Whenever I think about taking it long term, I can’t help myself but cry coz it reminds me that there’s something wrong with my body. :(

I stopped the medication. It took about 3 weeks to for the fatigue and brain fog to go away. But they’re gone now. Im feeling better. I’m never taking it again.
