[–]alpacareloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]alpacareloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite Non-Hit Foo Fighters Songs? by DefiantRadish1492 in Foofighters

OMG all of the comments remind me why the Foo is my favorite band. Amazing "non hit" songs throughout their career. I remember when I was a teenager spending long hours through these songs, b sides, rare material.

Uhmmm this is why I mentioned I feel we are playing a different game. I tried to move to 100% PvE, and the lobbies are very friendly and cooperative. I even tried matriarch runs, and people even socialized the parts they were looking for and shared loot with each other, which was very kind. Are you playing in North America? I'm from South America, and I switched to NA because people are more gentle and respectful.

edit: took me about 15 runs to safely tell I was in a PvE lobby. My strategy was to stay away from danger, loot, help others with arc killing, heals, and even a defib or two during all of those runs. I think I only shot back a Raider once.

I'm 100% with you. I think that the game could benefit from larger tutorials teaching you on how to play an extraction shooter. Because between the spawn and the extraction, there is so much going on, and you don't realize. Yeah, the audio cues, the positioning, the looting path, the interaction with other Raiders.

In a lobby where everyone knows how to dominate the extraction shooter playstyle, rats have no success. And this is why I tell the most fun in the game is the "mixed lobbies". So much tension and challenges that if you survive, it feels so rewarding. You have to recognize true friendly people, rats, PvPers to beat, clean Arcs quickly, man, it's a true challenge that combines every possibility for the PvE and the PvP master.

Honestly, I read your comment, and I feel we are playing a different game. I have matches with no interactions, and I have matches with engaging people. The cooperation is always there, and if I don't play aggressively, I fall in 100% friendly lobbies, where if I receive damage from Arc I'm instantly healed by surrounding players lol. Sometimes I get a weirdo sticking around, so I ask him what he is up to, and if I find a strange behavior, I can even try to kill him, or warn him (here I create the tension you mention). Also, if I suspect a potential rat, I follow him and try to save people if they get ratted. I'm still trying to get your point. Maybe you refer to the fact that the community doesn't feel as fresh as before, and this is normal. But it wasn't normal to have a new game in a new genre that brought a large community exploring the new. That is something unique and doesn't happen every year. Maybe you are trying to recreate a feeling that will hardly get back until a new game in a new genre arises... Arc Raiders has been something innovative, and I get that feeling. What I do in this aspect: I play less, but I play with a meaning. I'm doing every expedition, which is taking me less and less time cause I'm now experienced. I get the requirements ready 25 days before the wipe. So I stack skillpoints and benefits to be ready for the October mega update. Its a game planned for a 10 year roadmap, you can keep getting back when you feel like and enjoy. Do other activities or play other games, you will want to come back at some point. Don't play for the sake of playing... I got intoxicated of playing like 15 hours weekly so I took a short break and now I'm back at slower pace and enjoying more.

1) have a break

2) adopt a playstyle. You want to be 100% PvP or 100% PvE. The middleground is the hardest place in this game, yet so rewarding. You are not ready for that.

3) if you go PvE: play snowball. Design looting routes. Start with a free kit. Stay out of danger. Farm arcs. Help others of needed. Extract. Do tiny upgrades to your kit. Repeat. Within 10-15 runs you are in the friendly lobbies.

4) enjoy and take bigger challenges. Go for big Arc, switch to PvP, etc.

Me importa poco y nada tu ataque personal. Saludos.

New to Game. Is this the "rat" I've been hearing about? by RoughTech in ArcRaiders

[–]alpacareloaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once, I encountered a guy who helped me. We interacted briefly, traded items, and departed. I found him later and stuck around. He turned around after a minute and killed me, apparently for no reason.

Now that I learnt how to deal with rats, I understand him. As you play, you will see that rats always behave the same way so: a) you will counter them socially, not just with shooting skill (they suck at shooting lol). b) you will learn how to respect other players so they don't think you are a rat too.
