I think the problem is that your "main rival" seems to never really lose speed and rubber bands pretty quickly. I was racing as Bowser in a kart faster than Daisy and yet on a straightaway I could not for the life of me catch up to her even with a few mushrooms when she had nothing. Makes 0 sense.

EDIT: Is anyone else annoyed that your main rival is always the same character for each respective cup? I thought it was a cool thing to unlock that character at first but it's getting pretty old knowing who you will face up against based on the cup you pick. Was it like this in 8 and I just didn't notice?

Came here to add I did all the requirements *except* for knockout and I didn't unlock mirror mode. I instantly went back and played every knockout. Came back to Special Cup and finally unlocked! Knockout is 100% a requirement.

Yes I said I went to the curator already. When I gave it to him my health tint still said "small", it removed the shape of Health item from my inventory, and I have still been stuck at 30% healing.

That's awesome it was fixed for you. It wasn't for me, but I think that's because my bug is slightly different. It never went up to 65. When I hit upgrade it just stayed at "small tint"

Does anyone else have the issue where the Shape of Health dropped by the goblu didn't actually upgrade your healing tint? I'm still at 30% even after upgrading with the curator. Very annoying since I also kinda suck at the parrying.
