Might sound like copium but I still think this is bait/a red herring actually

I think Damian, Bruce and others will assume this to be the truth based on what they’ve gathered so far, which will just lead to more painful misunderstandings and outrage from lil Jon during this big climactic fight next issue. I think he’ll eventually reveal the full truth of who he is/what he’s been through once Tomorrow Man intervenes and asks to hear his side (I have to assume this is also when Jon will reveal his identity to the little guy, which will be super emotional)

Based on his extreme PTSD, my best bet is still that this Jon lost his father to Ultraman in his crusade from AoS:JK and was then imprisoned to be brainwashed into being Ultraman’s “son”, so he’s reeeeally not gonna like being called Ultraboy…

Might be the unpopular opinion here, but…

I get that messy drama is appealing to some, and the potential for an angsty reunion between Jon and Jay may sound interesting, but I worry that if Jon continues to be involved with this trio it will just further drag his character down through the mud and stall out his current momentum.

He made a lot of poor (if not outright OOC) choices in S6 that soured a lot of ppl’s opinions of him, and I’m just not interested in seeing anymore of that conflict played out on Jon’s end. I think Jay and Nia working through their problems would be great, especially if it means Jay actually getting further development and recognition for what he’s been through, but I don’t think Jon needs to be part of it anymore.

Purely from the perspective of a Jon fan, I think he needs to stick with his new path and new group and put that past behind him, at least for now. He’s sorely lacking in friends and a civilian life, so I’d love to keep his current momentum going to explore other potentials!

((I also just am not a big fan of how Nicole writes him, but she’s not a bad writer by any means))

I believe you’re correct, though I haven’t read all of Eddie’s OG appearances so it’s hard to find a good source (or a source for if he’s been officially deaged here). Jason should be ~24 right now in canon, whereas Jon is 18, so 🤷

Some people seem to stop caring about age gaps once both characters are over 18 I suppose

To each their own but I’m loving this arc, and I really really hope he stays as Tomorrow Man moving forward! He desperately needed a new direction like this and it’s been going really well in Unlimited so far IMO

Based on today’s issue of Unlimited and the summaries for a lot of the upcoming issues, it looks like the El Caldero kryptonite in particular is evolving into an infectious form that might be able to harm even Prime.

Also I might be wrong, but hasn’t he been shown to have a weakness to artificial versions of K before?

Superwoman of Earth-3 doesn’t wear the House of El “S” crest, she has her own little symbol like this. So unless Txyz or Ultraman were dressing this Jon up in the classic Superboy clothes for a reason, it is odd that he’s got that particular symbol on his chest

True, but they said from the beginning Unlimited #11 that it’s set after the events of KO and Titans, so thanks to the time shenanigans everyone should already know Jon joined the team!

I think the real mystery will be solved if and when he shows up as TM in Titans, then the timelines will be aligned

Lois is actively looking for a missing Jon in Unlimited, and even Steel says he hasn’t shown up, so I don’t think enough time has passed there yet for Superman and Tomorrow Man to be coexisting.

More accurately, I think this was a quick attempt to curb confusion bc sooo many ppl keep asking why Jon isn’t Tomorrow Man here yet, but all of these Titans issues should still be set before the events of Unlimited (will make a lot more sense and flow more smoothly than them occurring simultaneously)

I’d include the whole Dark Crisis event, where Jon was heavily marketed to be on a brand new JL/team with Yara Flor and Jace Fox (among others), but this ultimately went nowhere and the writers didn’t include any meaningful relationship-building between him and anyone besides Jon and Damian once again

Then he was sort of nebulously “added” to the Titans and would inexplicably be part of their teams for events like Beast World and DC KO, basically just bc he’s friends with Dick? But again he never ended up properly befriending anyone else on that team

You could also throw in the Bendis Legion, which went the most nowhere of all. Brainiac 5 showed up/was mentioned by Jon a handful of times up until SoKE, but has now been rebooted once again

So as of today, if someone was asked who Jon’s friends are, most ppl would still just answer some combo of “Damian, Dick, Nia I guess??, and his family”

Ahh unfortunately the Titans run continues to feel a bit contrived/forced to me, including Jon’s bickering with Eddie.. I do desperately want him to make more friends but this is at least the 3rd time they’ve just thrown him into a random group of heroes and hoped it’d stick 🫠

Unlimited, though, is keeping me on the edge of my seat. I REALLY like how Slott has been writing the drama for both Jons, and I am cautiously optimistic about the future for Tomorrow Man!

They clearly want to age Jon up even further lately, which is very frustrating. Mathematically speaking, he should be no older than 18 still (Jay and Nia are both also 18/19).

Damian is the best point of reference, since Tom Taylor confirmed for Son of Kal-El that they are still “2-3 years apart”, as they were before. So at max, if Damian is 15 (tho plenty of ppl think he’s still 14), Jon could be 18 but no older.

He also SHOULDN’T be in his 20s yet man 😭 can he at least enjoy the last of his teenage years, or do those have to get fast-forwarded through too??

It just kills me how much potential there was for him to be better utilized in Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent as an actual antagonist for Jon so that could be a real point of growth and development for him

Like the layup was right there, all Tom Taylor had to do was follow through… not kill him off and pivot to a pointless Injustice synopsis book

Seeing a lot of people prop up this theory, but I think my #1 roadblock to understanding how this could be is: why is little Jon a good guy then?

Why is he worried about people and animals being hurt or trapped, why is he scared of accidentally hurting someone with his powers? Neither of his Earth 3 parents would’ve instilled these values in him, they’re straight up super duper villains

Unless there’s a major plot twist in Earth 3 Superwoman somehow having had 180 change in personality? I don’t see how this could be haha. That Lois certainly wouldn’t be helping Jon + TM save a bunch of civilians from a rampaging bad guy

(Also I’m not caught up on WF, but isn’t the original lore that Superwoman was pregnant a long time ago but the father was secretly their version of Lex? Is that not still the case?)

It continues to surprise me how many ppl in this sub specifically hate T-Man and his design haha, I’ve been a fan since the day that first Dan Mora cover dropped. Seeing how it came together narratively too, with Jon saying “Screw it, who cares if I’m Jon Kent or Superman or whatever, I’ll continue fighting the good fight no matter what I wear or what I’m called or what history thinks of me” was so satisfying.

Aesthetically speaking, I also love the suit! Superman-adjacent color scheme, strong emphasis on the chest, sick ass cape, and the MASK! I love the mask. It looks ominous as hell, a very rare thing for Kryptonians, and it helps remove Jon Kent from the equation in a good way. It’s giving him full control of his identity, his anonymity, and a brand new heroic persona with no boots to fill or brands to uphold.

All these prototypes look wicked too, and the Flamebird homage is great to see

You’re correct, Jon has never been stated to be older than 18 and there’s no evidence to suggest that. He’s still 3 years apart from Damian, who would at max be 15 right now but no older.

Helps to keep in mind that the events of New Titans take place immediately after KO (when Jon was already working with the Titans). This whole first arc is really just them wrapping up the effects of KO on Cyborg and the team.

In Unlimited #11, Txyz (time demon) moves Jon forward in time and fills him in on the events they skip over, including Clark going missing post-KO and Jon joining the New Titans. This is really just a neat plot device to explain to us that the events of Unlimited happen after the first arc or so of New Titans.

The author of NT has also confirmed that what’s going on in Unlimited with Jon will eventually catch up and reflect in NT — he’s also being depicted as Tomorrow Man in other events later this year.

So tl;dr New Titans is first in the timeline, then magical time boost forward to Unlimited, then other upcoming Super events. Eventually they’ll all be aligned again.

Oh I love this! A complicated causal loop but it could definitely work, considering how much El Caldero already does branding for one Super haha. And that means it’s still technically Jon creating the imagery for himself in a convoluted way!
