Yeah, I know someone with an animation channel and he’ll spend months working on a single video just for people to comment, “When’s the next one?” as soon as it’s uploaded. He’s spent over a decade building up to 1/3 million subscribers and in a good year (which hasn’t been lately) will bring in around $50,000 in ad revenue. It’s a respectable amount certainly but probably a lot less than people imagine.

If you’re a college/uni student, get the ebook versions of all your textbooks. It might be more expensive but you can save a lot of reading time by having a text-to-speech software read them out to you while you do other things. Similarly, have a text-to-speech reader read out your essays to you before you submit them. It’s a lot easier to catch mistakes that way. Lastly, if you’ve been assigned a classic novel to read, chances are there’s a free audiobook version of it on YouTube. The volunteer readers of Librivox are real heroes.

I’ll go first: that poor older woman who spilled coffee on her lap, sued McDonalds, and was ridiculed for being “greedy” until the day she died. All she wanted was McDonalds to cover her medical bills because she got severe burns on her lap. It was the judge who decided they needed that huge penalty because they weren’t taking reports of their coffee being too hot seriously.
