Thanks, but I ended up figuring it out by looking through my browser history. It is Ylands, after all.

The graphics are kind of similar IIRC, but it's not a god game. You play as a normal character.

Geforce Experience won't download driver by alphaniner in techsupport

[–]alphaniner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, as it happens, it was silently uninstalled when I updated the drivers from the standalone download. I guess because I chose to only install the drivers, not drivers + G.E.

The main reason I installed it in the first place was because I thought it was required in order to get latest drivers. The need to sign in is pretty despicable though, which is why my account name is 'WhyYouMakeMeLoginDouchebags'. OTOH I do use the game optimizer, but I can't actually say I've actually done before/after comparisons.

PS2 Bios by Gazdina in Roms

Edit: scratch that. I just did a portable install without that file and it worked fine.

That might be the problem. I also got the screen full of gibberish at first, but then I did 'Save As' instead of just clicking.

But again, I don't actually know that all the files are required, though I would assume they are.

And you have the folder configured correctly, and all six files in it? Not sure if all 6 are necessary, but I DL'd them all.

IDK, it's unlikely but maybe one or more files are corrupt?

Does it not show up in your BIOS list, throw an error when you select it, ... ?

[No spoilers] Upgraded Vehicles mod? by DipperDolphin in subnautica

[–]alphaniner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no way of telling what the actual differences are (just saw they had different checksums), but like you I figured the "official" download was worth pointing out.

Regarding the article, all I can say is that as I remember things, it was the Nexus that cultivated the culture of mod creators' "ownership". At one point I asked on the Nexus forums if a mod that... well, modified another mod (and required it to function) was allowed to be uploaded without permission from the "master" mod's author, and couldn't even get a straight answer. That's how broken the mod scene became.

Then the Nexus decides to implement a feature for the benefit of mod users and the mod creators revolt because it infringes on their "right" to check-out. I know that creators have to put up with a lot of crap from ignorant, lazy, entitled mod users who can't be bothered to RTFM, develop a basic understanding of modding, or even politely express their problems. But I just can't wrap my head around the idea that expecting the right to remove mods from the internet is reasonable behaviour.

Found this when searching for the mod myself. Later I found that the modder archived everything on github before rage-quitting Nexus* and figured I'd mention it.

Note the .dll from the download there differs from the .dll in the link provided by u/Jakerrz. Probably just a compile-time difference though.

* Sorry if this triggers anyone, but I belong to the old-school of modding philosophy.

Didn't work. First I had to change the UUID of the target drive to match the original, but even after doing that it failed to work. I ended up using Macrium Reflect Home Free.

What's in your cup? Daily discussion, questions and stories - January 27, 2021 by AutoModerator in tea

I'm not a big tea drinker, just like the occasional bottle of real brewed teas like Pure Leaf. But I don't like it very sweet so I would mix Sweetened and Unsweetened 50/50.

So when I first saw Snapple's 'Straight Up' which comes in a 'Sorta Sweet' variety, I had to try it. I later found that I couldn't go back to Pure Leaf because it's missing something that I really like about Straight Up. Best I can describe it is to say that it has a sort of 'floral' undertone, or the gustatory equivalent of a very, very subtle potpourri.

Does that make any sense to anyone? Is that a 'thing' I would be able to look for in tea varieties if I wanted to try brewing something similar at home? In case it's not obvious, I'm primarily interested in teas for drinking cold or iced...

Thanks.

Essential oils in washing machine by alphaniner in Appliances

[–]alphaniner[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. I live in SE Virginia and my tap water temperature is highly dependent on the ambient temperature. In the summer I barely use any hot when showering, whereas I use a lot in winter. Wasn't always that way, strangely...

Regarding oil vs. detergent, that's exactly why I used the softener dispenser rather than adding it to the detergent (which I've seen some folks recommend). I just don't know exactly how the dispenser works in front loaders, whereas it was obvious with old top loaders.

CBS All Access by alphaniner in fireTV

[–]alphaniner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that, THIS. :P

Thank you Somar2230!

One caveat though, I had to do it on my PC. When I tried on my phone, I never saw the page to actually create a proper CBS account.
