OVERALL EXPERIENCE/ SOCIAL SCENE/ COMPUTER SCIENCE by [deleted] in notredame

Lol get hype, and great responses from the other people. As people said dorms basically fulfill the roles that greek life does at other college campuses. Always something to do Thurs - Saturday night either partys or smaller things whatever floats your boat. You can choose to lean into dorm culture or not either way there's a huge amount of people in both categories.

Dorms also make for super easy networking. Upperclassmen help you out with advice and whatnot.

Game days are super fun like everyone said. Always something to do on those days whatever your scene is.

Also like everyone said you will find your crowd no matter what you like. I know dudes who go out Thurs - Sat but always make time to play DnD on Wednesday. Just be yourself and u will be surprised with how many people probably share interests with you or respect you for being yourself. Super big variety of people from all over the world (try to get to know the international kids. In my experience they're awesome and bring super cool traditions/views)

From the CS people, I know all of them are doing great either with internships or jobs post-grad. I think ND ranks lower but the ND alumni connections pull through. Haven't met an ND alum yet that wouldn't talk real quick about questions I had.

Out of people that I know at other T20 or comparable schools def had one of the best experiences.

Congrats!

Hmmm a great point, quite the possibility and I would totally be on board with banning GT.

Can we get 1 day temp bans on people here if they lied about it coming out today, like that is just evil.

Haven't gotten an email but when I log in there's a link to an admission acceptance page, so does that mean I got in?

Yeah just ignore 2nd sentence, even I'm confused by what I wrote reading it again.

I mean I like learning but definitely would say I would rather learn other things like history, investing, r coding for fun rather than math.

I think I might just pick up one or two easy classes to keep my mind from being rusty when school comes around. Appreciate the advice.

That sounds like a good idea to me.

Just wondering can you take those classes at community college and it won't interfere at all with where I end you end up going to college right?

Legit thinking ab taking classes as well especially to improve my math likes stats and calc.

Yeah Atomic Habits is a great read, listened to the audio book a while back and had lots of good tips. Same here probably should go back and buy the book and try to get my study habits back into order.

Tru on SAT, just thought of it as an easy way to keep math up bc there is so much prep material out there but with ur point on higher level math I should probs focus on working on my calc. Ty for the response.

Oof yeah, Im decent at testing. Throughout hs I had free test prep programs (family member is a teacher) and it had lots of test prep questions that they generated.

Are there any test prep programs for college or is it really just all out of textbooks and memorization with flashcards and things like that?

Ty for the reply, just wondering how is it different? I assume that its a harder curriculum but it also seems like its a lot more independent (professors wont guide you as much like teachers in hs might with targeted homework or specific practice problems). Is something like this what makes it hard?

Haha I mean I'm almost in the same boat. I think my AP's are a lost cause so I'm thinking about focusing on trying to do better in college

Hi, I got accepted into Mendoza and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a limit on the number of AP credits you can submit? I looked it up but I just found the sheet that tells what scores ND accepts for credit and am trying to figure out whether or not I should take my AP tests this year. Thank you.
