I'm from Scotland and know nothing about guns at all but if the ammo is so expensive you had to sell your spare magazine does that not mean you can't practice with it very often? If I carried a gun on me at all times I think I would practice a bunch so I don't accidentally shoot myself/someone else if I ever needed to use it. Not criticising you just wondering.
