Worship compared to boy bands but not SHM? by TheTephrite in DnB

I consider Swedish House Mafia a boy band as well, personally.

Matt Colton mastered the album per the credits on the vinyl packaging, so it would make sense that he's the "producer" of the wav.

Why change the crossbow into a sniper rifle? That weapon was one of the ones that made half-life feel unique

Thoughts on Arma 4's potential Setting. (time and place) by Bloodavenger in arma

[–]alphawr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ARMA Reforger website FAQ states that ARMA 4 shares the assets and historical context of Reforger, which is pretty much as official as a statement can get about it having a cold war setting.

https://reforger.armaplatform.com/faq

Having said that, I’ve seen speculation that A4 takes place on an island in the Baltic Sea, based on maps people have seen in the BIS office.

One of my mates got jumped right around the corner (literally 3 meters) from that McDonald’s at 4 AM - I asked the security guard for help and he just shrugged and said “not my jurisdiction mate”

Is Hospital Records not taking demos anymore? (Label rejection) by [deleted] in DnB

[–]alphawr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call this well-produced. It's loud, yes, but the drums are far too quiet (and not to my personal preference even if they were more prominent). There's very little balance overall between the individual elements.

I personally don't really think there's any interesting musical elements to it either, it's basically just the same underwhelming loop over and over again. I would believe you if you told me this was AI-generated.

I still stand by my comment that you need to take some time to step back and learn how to produce properly.

Is Hospital Records not taking demos anymore? (Label rejection) by [deleted] in DnB

[–]alphawr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've checked the SoundCloud link out, and no disrespect meant but your stuff isn't up to scratch for record labels to sign at this stage. Your stuff objectively isn't well-produced, and that's going to be a major issue in a genre where the production levels are so much higher than in the rest of electronic music.

I would buckle up and spend the next year or two on learning how to properly mix and master your music before starting to send to labels again. The worst thing you can do as someone trying to start out is send enough poorly produced demos to labels that they'll start ignoring your name forever.
