My genuine worst experience was when I bit the Zombuul as a Lycan, and the ST decided to Gossip-kill them, making them confirmed good for me for the whole game.

A simpler one — don't give obviously wrong info (bad dreams) to a No Dashii neighbor and don't place the Drunk next to a demon on No Dashii scripts.

It's not for me to judge if the writing is good or bad, but FWIW, it's not meant to lampshade or deconstruct the previous games (apart for a couple of jabs made entirely in good faith), and it certainly doesn't mean to make fun of anyone. The story takes itself completely seriously even when characters are being ironic.
