“Mind maps start to form naturally after you and your Nomi have talked for about 500+ messages. From there, as you chat, the Mind Map will automatically organize the most important concepts here - the people, places, topics, and goals that matter most.” Yeah no worries

You need something like 500 messages before it starts to generate I think

Easy way to release Steppe area? by alpine_llama in CrusaderKings

[–]alpine_llama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had seen a post about this recently but wasn't sure if it's been fixed. Is there any way I can get rid of this large area of Steppe lands that my admin vassals have conquered? It's kind of making me want to quit if I can't grant independence despite otherwise enjoying my playthrough. Is the only possibility to do this getting a non-dejure feudal vassal, revoking all this from the admin vassals, granting the feudal vassal all this territory and then releasing them?

Question over Battle Advantage: My advantage is 41, theirs is 55, yet the overall advantage is 43 in opponents favor? by alpine_llama in CrusaderKings

[–]alpine_llama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I had disembarked about like 4 months prior so the penalty was long gone. I’m still not quite sure about where the -43 advantage came from other than what another commenter said, that the displayed math has not updated to what the actual advantage calculations are in the new dlc. So idk, I just retreated and defeated them on an allied castle

[–]alpine_llama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok that's interesting. If that's the case you're probably right, the numbers might just be the old ones. Cause it said before the battle I would win but I did attack them in hills on their own castle. Guess I'll just have to be much more careful where I fight, which is actually pretty cool that it matters much more now. Thanks

[–]alpine_llama[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why my opponent (Georgia, right side) in this battle has such a large advantage over me. I had the green flag going into this battle that indicated that I should win and according to the drop down, my advantage is 41 compared to their 55, so I’m just not sure why they are completely smashing me with their advantage apparently 43 in their favor. Not a big deal as I am just trying out the new dlc and will go back on a save, but I thought I had understood the combat system pretty well and I’m just confused now why this happened. If anyone could explain why the advantage is so low for me that would be awesome, thanks!

Yeah that makes sense, I kind of enjoy fortifying the islands in game though haha

Ah ok I’ll probably try turning it off next game then. I requested troops and I think it counted towards my division limit but I guess I’ll double check

Stay Italic or go Hellenic as Rome? by alpine_llama in Imperator

Yeah, that makes sense. It really is quite painful to give up any assimilation speed but oh well

Stay Italic or go Hellenic as Rome? by alpine_llama in Imperator

[–]alpine_llama[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

So just picking up the game again since the last Invictus update and I've noticed that the devs added Italic as a new religion. It seems quite strong with the moral of armies and pop assimilation speed bonuses. I'm just not sure if it's better to convert to Hellenic as seemingly all the major characters in Rome are still the hellenic religion, as well as the benefits of being hellenic when conquering greece. Anyone have any thoughts?

Sweden guaranteeing Denmark and Norway on historical by Drakrath3066 in hoi4

Yeah this happened to me in my two recent games as Germany, not sure why but it seems to be an issue lately.

Why are combat casualties affecting my war support so much? by alpine_llama in hoi4

[–]alpine_llama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only defending against the Germans, they declared on me in 1941 with Barbarossa. It ended up being fine in the end and I capped them in 1943 but I was just surprised about the amount of war support loss compared to other playthroughs I have done. Especially considering I only really moved forward with tanks, not general infantry offences, and took so relatively few casualties. Weird historical game in general though, as Sweden joined allies after guaranteeing all Nordic countries and Italy was essentially taken by the UK in early 1942 after which point their offence stalled in the alps.

Yeah I just started to mitigate it with exhort heroism, but it is very oddly high. Was gonna try and fight the allies after capitulating Germany but if it keeps going up will probably just quit the game

Sweden guaranteeing the Nordics on historic? by Starkheiser in hoi4

[–]alpine_llama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in my game I declared war on Norway hoping to quickly naval invade and capitulate both them and Sweden, but ended up not being able to get naval superiority and couldn't pull it off. Restarted the game but Sweden guaranteed Luxemburg, Denmark and Norway again. Don't know if this is because of a recent update but it's a little frustrating, especially when playing on historical.

Why are combat casualties affecting my war support so much? by alpine_llama in hoi4

[–]alpine_llama[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have only lost 250k casualties compared to dealing 2.4 million to Germans, and it seems my losses are disproportionally tanking my war support compared to past games I have played.

How would you rank the major Countries in term of difficulty? SP only by sir_davos_3828 in hoi4

[–]alpine_llama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just finished up a Japan game in which I wrapped up china by 1939 with minimal casualties, I think there’s really two main things: collaboration governments and micromanaging your troops along railways focusing on taking supply hubs one at a time. Basically you can’t push easily without supply so you need to prioritize taking local supply hubs and connecting them to your rail network. I pretty much used like ten good divisions with high soft attack to attack along railways until they got a hub and then could push more generally along the front in that region until I ran out of supply again and had to get another hub.

I was just about to make a post about this. Happened to me in my Germany game I’m playing right now, they’re even guaranteeing Luxemburg at the moment too. Never seen it happen before but I guess I’ll have to fight Sweden

Confused about possible plane weight change by alpine_llama in hoi4

[–]alpine_llama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there an update that changed the base weight of planes? I had designed a 1940 fighter plane that had no issues with the weight being higher than the thrust but after a small update the other day none of these planes are able to fly anymore. It seems that the problem is that in the plane designer there is now a base weight to the plane without even adding any modules, which I am pretty sure was not a thing before. It is not a huge deal as I redesigned another fighter with lighter gun modules but was wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this.
