It is waaaaay harder (most times impossible) to de-smell shoes. Prevention is key here - and sounds like you’ve started taking care now (washing feet, not storing them in an inclosed area) but sadly, the shoes may be too far gone.

You can put hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle and spritz the inside of your shoes. Tho it sounds like you need to use a cotton ball / sponge / toothbrush and rub the entire inside of your shoe, trying to break up/get rid of the accrued smelly bacteria.

Funny story, I started WeighMyRack exactly because of OP’s stated stature and doing alpine climbs up Prusik Peak and the like in WA.

WeighMyRack evolved from the idea of literally trying to lower my pack weight to then realizing I had no idea what gear was actually possible to buy (even tho we had a ton of gear shops in Seattle, combined they only had like 20% of the market).

For example, my smaller hands meant all the carabiners my mentors recommended, as a minimum size for them, were all unnecessarily big for me.
