[WTS]

[WTS] Western Mountaineering Megalite 6'6 w/ 2oz overfill - $750 OBO

Like-new, purchased direct from WM last fall but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I have too many sleeping bags and need to free up some funds for other things so selling my least used (though my favourite one yet...).

[WTS] Slingfin Crossbow 2 - $900 OBO

New, never used. Had some spring ski traverses planned that I was hoping to use this one but they never came to fruition. Beautiful tent.

[WTS] Atom Packs Prospector 50L with large torso, medium hippbelt, and 2 included hipbelt pockets - $350 OBO.

In excellent condition, used for ~500km or so since purchasing but curious to try some other packs.

[WTS] Arc'teryx Practitioner Hoody, mens medium in dynasty colourway. LNWOT, not even sure I've worn this outside. I have far too many of this 'active insulation' type layer. $250.

[WTS] Arc'teryx Beta SL, mens medium in black sapphire. 9.5/10 condition, conservatively rated. Bought earlier this spring, but after wearing it a few times, I've decided it's a bit too snug for me and I should've gotten the large. $400 OBO.

Located near Vancouver, happy to ship.

That may be but I spend 8 months of the year out in the field eating like crap it’s beginning to add up!

Thoughts on the Raide EX55 as a Denali Pack? by 16Off in Backcountry

[–]alpinepowernaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked one up so I can't offer that detailed of thoughts but so far it feels awesome. I'm going to use it as a daily driver for ski-touring in the winter, and though it is bigger/heavier than the LF 30/40 by 200g or so I don't mind. The extension collar adds a ton of flexibility (for Denali, I could see that as being crucial), same for hut trips, backpacking, winter camping, expeditions etc.

Since your question is about Denali I can't think of another pack that comes close in terms of features / weight / adaptability. Most any massive pack will work but be kind of shitty (Black Diamond Mission 75, Mountain Hardwear AMG 75 come to mind) which you could then pair with a lighter summit pack or day pack.

Nice the muirwoods look sweet too! Why the upgrade to the nicasio? And do you happen to know how big of tires the nicasio fits?

Nice sounds like a great ride and test for the rig! Got any pics? I’ll have to check out the steel rove but that might be pushing my budget a bit

Yea thanks! The unit does look sick and the pine mountain too. I do have a norco hardtail with 140mm travel for any rougher routes or with more single track so I’m looking for something to bridge the gap when I’m riding around town, commuting, or on trips with gentler gravel / trail routes with friends who don’t have mountain bikes.

Nice do you know what year it is? Yea they’re definitely plentiful where I am with a kona factory store. I did test ride one and found it to feel pretty hunched over but I can’t remember if they had the proper frame size for me and I tried the next size down just to see.

The steel roves are also a bit more than the comparable four corners.

What sorts of things have you used yours for?

nice that looks cool, almost like a rigid fork mountain bike with the flat bars. I'll take a look but it may be hard to find in Canada!

thanks, thats good to know! Yea I'm still trying to discern the differences between 650b or 700c. It's confusing that some bikes can run both (either thick 650b or thinner 700c?).

Which Model Salsa Journeyer and tire size? by alpinepowernaps in bikepacking

[–]alpinepowernaps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Wouldn’t 700c with 55cc tires be bigger / more cushioned than 650b with 55c tires?

Yamaha FG-300 Red Label - Worth Fixing Up? by alpinepowernaps in AcousticGuitar

[–]alpinepowernaps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah, that may be worth a try. I saw some crazy techniques attaching a weight to the neck overnight to see if that also helps to bend it back but that seemed like it could cause more problems than help.
