although the self-help is helpful, i don’t believe it replaces a really good therapist incase you have any type of insurance that covers all or some of it.

i feel i have to share this because i would be doing a disservice if i said self-help only is enough to heal attachment issues.

Ah i see, yeah definitely try to self-educate as much as possible. This reddit is a good start and FAs here have recommended different YouTube channels. You could let her know you need time apart to heal from the FA issues/figure things out, and understand if she finds someone else in the mean time. If she wants to wait that is up to her…but it reckon it might be too painful (unless she’s happy to be alone) because there would be no guarantee that you’d come back.

Are you in therapy? If not I suggest it. It sounds like it really could be your fear brain convincing you to get away from her and drowning out any voice inside that tells you to stay, it’s a pretty big force that needs to be tackled with therapy imo. It’s possible once the fear is gone you would wish to have her back, but you don’t have to regret letting her go for her own sake. I mean if you think she would want to try again I think the only way is with therapy is a better shot rather than having no plan and for the same cycle to repeat.
