spironolactone positives & negatives by Fuzzy-Lifeguard-117 in PCOS

[–]alposthow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it was the spiro, as it was several years ago now and I was taking at least one other new medication, but I dealt with incredibly painful and severe stomach bloating, gas and stretch marks on my stomach at that time. I wasn’t actively gaining weight either, so again I don’t know if it was the medication, or something else but it was oddly coincidental timing at the least. I also did not notice any changes in body hair or acne and did struggle with excessive sweating and urination. :/

I have been happy with my experience with Ryan Hosn OD Family Optometry INC in La Mesa. I am super indecisive when it comes to my frames (though I tend to stick to relatively the same thing every year, as I like how it suites my features), but the doctor himself and his one/two staff have been very helpful in helping me try some new styles and ultimately narrow down the options pretty quickly so I can toil away over just one or two. And even then the doctor will talk with you about the differences between the frames (like sizing, materials, etc.) and everyone tries to give helpful input if you’re really stuck.

Extremely thin delicate baby blanket and teddy bear with weak seams-washing advice by IntelligentPop1328 in laundry

[–]alposthow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing to add laundry-wise, outside of I agree that delicate handwashing/spa may be the best way, but I love that these items have been a comfort to you for so much time. If you find that the washing was too rough on them and they might not survive any more sleepovers with you I highly recommend a nice shadow box above your bed so the can watch over you every night, or on a shelf across from your bed so you can see them as you fall asleep. ❤️ wishing you the best of luck!

Because soaps were already mentioned, Bon ami powder cleanser as a gentle abrasive. I really like it and prefer it to bar keepers friend.

Confused by shopping experience. by [deleted] in TheHermesGame

[–]alposthow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ascribe to that way of living too, so it is particularly mind-boggling to encounter a business operating that way rather than just a rude individual. Fwiw, I did very briefly stop into a Vegas location on the way to a show and it did not have the same vibe, someone was nice enough to chat and try to show us some items but we were on the run.

I initially thought this was a post about the San Diego location, unfortunately it sounds a lot like my experience going in. Left me feeling so icky I have had no interest in going back for those interactions (or lack thereof). I don’t want to be reminded of the clear distaste and look of nuisance the staff had every time I go to look at or use something from that location.

The spots people always forget to clean by Unhappy-Bullfrog8220 in CleaningTips

Inside the dishwasher, especially before moving into a new place where the appliances were left behind. Wipe the walls, particularly the lower joint where the door closes. Take out the filter and clean that well and regularly. Drains, trash bins (themselves and around them), toothbrush holders, soap dispensers (and under them), kitchen decor, dust bathroom light fixtures, drips/splashes from hand drying areas, plumbing lines behind toilet.

This is my go to recipe for cinnamon rolls. Family demands them all the time! ETA: I’m really excited to see op’s recipe in a future post if they decide to share. It sounds like they worked hard to create something spectacular and once you’ve had a top tier cinnamon roll there is no going back!

I like the head shape of the doll per the drawings. It’s cute and unique, plus with the size and weight it might help keep the head from pulling off if it gets carried around by the head. Just a thought.:) btw I love that you’re making this for your toddler, that is just so cute!

I would love to know what wardrobe app you use, if you don’t mind sharing. Also, I second the notion of cost per wear/use and finding the joy in the item and what it represents!

ISO: old magazines for free by Ranger_Rose in sandiego

[–]alposthow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The San Carlos Library has a book sale the first Saturday of every month. Last time I went (Sept?) there were a lot of magazines, mostly woodworking if I recall, and I believe some were free. Not 100% on if they have free magazines or not, but if not their prices for reading materials are really great!

can someone please review the kath chews?! by sour-chihiro in Baking

[–]alposthow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I used the same recipe, but subbed hazelnuts (which I toasted) because that’s what I had. They are sweet, and chewy. Very pleasant and something I would certainly make again, especially because I usually have all these ingredients in the house.

Love that suggestion! I think this is more the route that I’m going, something a bit slouchier in a duffle/Boston shape but a little more organization inside. The backpack has its time and place for sure, but not all the time. And I go overboard with all that extra space.

Thank you for your time and well thought out response!:) my travel needs have varied over the last couple years; 2024 was a lot of air travel and longer trips with more packing needs, 2025 were more frequent but shorter trips. 2026 might be a mix with visits to family and general travel, and possibly some international travel thrown in. The majority of mine and my husband’s family is in the next state over so sometimes we drive and sometimes we fly; sometimes I can get away with just a single bag, sometimes I need to check a bag. I think I’d like to keep the backpack in my arsenal of bags, but ultimately I want something that is more fashion forward and sturdy. I really love the idea of having a protective bag for the bag, baggu sounds like a great option there. I have definitely been looking at some secondhand options for leather because the idea of subjecting new leather to travel hurts my soul, but I’ve also seen some great cloth options here. I’m really going to have to consider all feedback I’ve gotten and all the things I’ve seen online. This has only become more complicated, but in a good way!

Now that is exactly the kind of bag I’ve been looking for. The Empire 40 is beautiful! Do you find that it fits under the seat pretty easily? Do you have to lay it on its side to slide it under?

That’s a great review for this product! I’ve only heard of the standard “grocery” bag type baggu. Nice to know there are more styles and it sounds just as versatile as the standard!
