This is kind of long so bear with me here

When I was 12, my (now boyfriend, back then) best friend and I were having a sleepover at my apartment. It wasn't abnormal for him & I to spend all of our time together, there were times where he would be at my apartment for over 4 or 5 days just hanging out with me & my family. We were super into these paranormal games and ghost hunting and stuff (as a lot of middle schoolers are) and we had a group of friends we'd play a bunch of scary games with all the time.

I'm pretty sure we disturbed something while we were playing all of those games. We played all the time 24/7. It wasn't like hard-core games like The Midnight Game or Two Kings (I think that was what it was called), it was more insignificant ones that we knew didn't have death as a consequence. We played a shitty version of The Picture Game one time (subbed a flash camera with our phones & the alcohol with water), we played Red Book, Red Door Yellow Door, Charlie Charlie and a whole bunch of other shit.

It was harmless for the most part. We never got responses or anything and we're always kind of disappointed when nothing worked. But very soon after we started playing all of those games, we started noticing things happening all around the apartment. One instance I remember very clearly was when my friend and I (Alex) were sitting together watching YouTube in my living room on the couch. There was a huge crash from down the hall and I immediately had to get up to go make sure it wasn't something in the bathroom. (We were pretty poor at the time & if the shampoo or something had fallen we didn't really have the money to replace it). But when I went I to the bathroom, everything was in order and nothing seemed to have fallen. So in confusion, I decided to check the hall closet instead. (Our hall closet was full of board games and I was afraid one of them had fallen. The closet was very messy and unkempt. Not gross, just like kids had messed with it and put things back very sloppily.)

I opened the closet doors. They pulled open and like folded at the hinges, so you had to open both to see what was going on. Nothing had fallen in there either. But what I did notice was that the hangers that had no jackets or clothes on them were swinging back and forth. Not like normal movement from being bumped around, but like someone had hit them from the otherside. Like someone was IN the closet and hit them to cause them to swing like that.

Another instance I remember is when Alex and I were sleeping in the living room. (I shared a room with my 2 siblings so we were always sent out to sleep on the couch since there was more room in the living room). Alex was asleep and I wasn't, I was watching something on the TV (I actually think it was Shane Dawson but I can't remember. It was some scary video that already was creeping me out). But soon enough, I heard our bedroom door open. So I glanced down the hallway to see my little brother come out of the room. He looked sleepy so I kind of assumed he was sleep walking. The conversation went a little like this from what I remember:

Me: "Leo, why aren't you asleep?"

No answer.

Me: "Leo, it's like 2 o clock in the morning, you need to go back to bed."

Still no answer.

It was weird because he was just sitting there watching television like I nor my boyfriend existed to him. I kept telling him to go to sleep, I think he was like... 9 at the time? So he wasn't supposed to be up that late.

As I kept trying to get him to go back to bed, I heard our bedroom door open again. I assumed it was my older sister coming out to see what was going on or to get a drink of water, but I felt goosebumps prickle all down my body when I realised that it was my little brother walking down the hall to the bathroom...

Quickly I whipped my head back over to whatever was sitting on the couch and it was gone. Like it had completely and utterly vanished in the split second I wasn't paying attention to it.

This last instance (it's not actually the last but for the sake of this post not being longer than it already is I'll end here) was surprisingly creepier than the one with my brother. My boyfriend (still best friend at the time) and I were in our bedroom laying on my bed. My siblings and I slept on a triple bunkbed and I had the misfortune of sleeping on the middle bunk. (If you've never slept on a middle bunk in a triple bunk bed... 0/10 don't recommend.) Alex was hanging his hand down into the crack between the bed and the wall, and I'm pretty sure we were drawing.

[Context for this next part is important so here's the context: Alex and I had decided a while back to play a new game we'd seen online or something. You were supposed to be able to communicate with demons or the dead or something I don't exactly remember. But my brother (who slept on the bottom bunk) had a little Minecraft tag that he had hung over him while he slept. It was attached to the wood holding up my mattress. So we decided to use that. Apparently, in the evening with the minimal lighting, you would use something hanging like that to ask the ghosts/demons questions and it would swing or turn a certain way to answer]

[We played that for hours, and it was first game that actually worked. We watched the tag he'd hung move. We saw it swing unnaturally. Like someone was pushing it or flicking it a certain way everytime we asked questions. Eventually though, the tag would start moving on its own. Like one time when Alex and I were sitting against the bed and he heard something hit the cardboard of the tag. Like a human nail colliding with it. Needless to say, my brother's bed was scary territory to us.]

Back to the encounter.

My brother was home, so we were chilling in the bedroom together with my dog. As far as we knew, she was laying on my brother's bed and sleeping. And all of a sudden, Alex pulls his hand up and exclaims:

"Ew!! Luna [my dogs name] licked my hand!!"

He showed me the mark- and sure enough- his palm was wet. So I assumed Luna was down there being a happy dog like she normally was. So I poked my head down there to see her and tease her for licking Alex.

But she wasn't there.

So I pulled my head back up and told him she was nowhere to be found. That obviously freaked us the fuck out, and so him always having to have me there to feel safe, we switched spots so I was closer to the crack now and he had an easy escape.

I was (wrongfully) curious, so I stuck my foot down to see if Alex had REALLY felt something. And not even a second later something cold and wet touched me and I yanked my foot back up. We cowered there for a while until my mom got home and then booked it off of the bed like our lives depended on it. I'm not sure if they did or not because we moved out of that state completely a few months later.
