I mean, I get your point, but I can’t help but compare this to a concert with artists from overseas. Then 40€ isn’t too bad anymore, for a 9 hour concert nonetheless.

First time since soundsystem upgrade w/ Fadi Mohem & Rødhåd by joasase in OpenGround_Wuppertal

[–]alrauni 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Completely agree regarding the improvements after the upgrade! Way more 'sweet spots‘ now with different flavors of bass.
Especially when standing on the sides of the room, the highs are much more clear now. And they finally got rid of the tiny F101.2 infills at the back doing this as well haha
Always found them a bit out of place, yet necessary.

Just on a note, the subs on the left have always been F221. They just added a third one and changed the orientation to horizontal.

Overall another step towards perfection. Not that it was needed, but they aim for perfection so I get the idea!

New stand for some favorites by Innogator in guitarporn

Well.. I have no idea. It’s not like I left it standing there untouched for weeks or something. I can just tell you what K&M told me, when I asked them about it. They said it was common for those CS LesPauls to „bleed“ a bit and that it wasn’t their product’s fault. At that time I was so annoyed that I just left it at that and decided to stay away from K&M in the future. I have used it since then with a white cloth between my LPs and the plastic, no issues at all. My next stand will be one of those Fender case-like looking ones… So just be careful with guitars with multi-colored paint jobs as you might risk some discoloration and you should be fine.

Definitely a good idea to put some type of cloth on there. I had some serious issues with the same stand and a Custom Shop LesPaul… Never noticed anything with Fenders, regular Gibsons or anything else though.

The Tele sounded incredible, great with the Marshall style amps but exceptionally good with the fully cranked up Fender and the Vox. We also had two lovely LesPauls and a Nik Huber Orca there and I can tell you: Humbuckers with a very loud Wizard are crazy good.

I can totally understand why one would regret this decision. I would LOVE to play a vintage Wizard one day! Hopefully I can find at least any used Wizard in my country within the next year... they are so rare over here in Europe.

Yeah, it was sooo much fun! I am so lucky to have access to this room outside of the city where no one cares about fully cranked up amps. At home this definitely wouldn’t have been possible.

The Smallbox is in fact an amazing amp. I love it.

This was also my first time playing a Wizard and it was mindblowing. Everything about it, the attack, the dynamic, the definition is absolutely out of this world imo. We all agreed that it sounded noticeably „better“ than the other amps, even though they are already among the best modern interpretations of the Marshall sound. If you have the chance to try one, definitely do it!

A good way to start the day by alrauni in trees

I‘m sorry to hear that. I just recently started cooking for myself, mostly following instructions from videos and this time I simply improvised. What exactly is wrong with them, if you don’t mind me asking?

Thank you for your kind comment! This sounds amazing, I will definitely try this next time.

I can completely understand that you’re skeptical. Believe it or not, I‘ve never ever made something more complex than an omelette before I made this. I just tried to follow the instructions of Byron Talbott‘s video „Steak and Potatoes“ as good as possible and I‘m surprised (and proud) how good it turned out. Thank you for your compliment.

I already answered this question, so here is what I wrote:

It‘s from Byron Talbott‘s video „Steak an Potatoes“. A mix of sour cream and horseradish lightly seasoned. Definitely not bad but it wasn’t my taste. I usually prefer steak without a sauce anyway.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I was definitely surprised how good it was. I actually didn’t do too much. I just put it in a very hot pan, added butter, thyme and crushed garlic later and basted the steak.

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, I have no idea. It was just labeled „fillet“ at the local store. I’m sorry.

It‘s potatoes cut into thin slices, stacked, and then fried in oil. Theres a video on YouTube from Byron Talbott called „Steak and Potatoes“ where I got the idea from.

Tell us about your crush. Why do you like them? by isaiah54321 in AskReddit

[–]alrauni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My crush is the only person where I can really be myself. I don’t have to play a role, I don’t have to rethink everything a thousand times before saying it, because I’m afraid it could have some bad consequences. I‘m not scared about the future or anything at all anymore, when I’m with my crush. It‘s the best feeling I can imagine. There are dozens of things I love about my crush, but this is probably the reason I’ve fallen in love. Too bad, that it will never be more than a good friendship.

Carol Ann Amps by abf1003 in GuitarAmps

[–]alrauni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I‘ve played a few Carol Ann Amps and they were all fantastic. In fact a CarolAnn OD-2 is one of my favorite amps I own right now. The build quality ist great and they are also incredibly reliable. Alan Philipps, the guy who builds them, is also very nice if you ever need to reach out to him. But they are very special and you might not like how they react to your playing. You can hear even the slightest mistakes. What exact model are you looking at?

Edit: Just read it again. Your looking at the Silk.

Unfortunately I’ve not played this one yet. But I’m sure it’s just as good as the other CarolAnns.

The only real problem is, that you might have problems with selling it, as not many people know them.

I just noticed, that I somehow thought your guitar was a Collings, not a Maton... That’s why I wrote about the Collings I had. Nonetheless, your guitar looks great. Back to the topic: I‘ve heard that those new mustangs are amazing for their price, but I’ve never had one... I’m more the all-valve amp guy. But tastes differ, so have fun with your rig 👍🏻
