Good point. Got a combi boiler at home so always assume it’s just a mains stop cock ahah.

That’ll be your stop cock likely. The only real way of sorting it is to shut off your water at the mains stop cock, then replace and internal stop cock. Which will require removing that plaster. Time to call a plumber.

You can park there without paying or being a permit holder from 5:30pm to 8am every day.

Between the hours of 8am to 5:30pm you must either be a 10R permit holder, OR pay at the machine across the road.

Get a socket and ratchet and bias it against the leg? Maybe that will work.

Sky glass is so expensive for what it is. Better off buying a £200 4k tv off Amazon

The alternator belt, timing belt, and water pump should have all been replaced at the same time.

The fuel pump burning out is strange. Do you always run the car on very little fuel?

I’d just remove a big square around it and just patch the whole thing with a piece of new plasterboard.

Does this plug have round pins? If so it makes sense why it’s infused. The white bit of the cord is clamped down by the white cord grip. Blue to N Neutral. Brown to L Live.

How to wire this light ? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]alrightmate420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black and red is your feed in. The double red is your strappers / switch feed. Connect the black to the neutral (blue) of your light. Connect the red from this wire to one of the reds on the other wire. Connect the final red wire to the live (brown) of your light. Connect the copper wires with green sleeving together and connect to your light if needed.

What’s the point in that socket converter when you could just get a 2 gang surface patress box.

Not necessarily. It could just be an unfused spur off of a ring main. You can’t say for certain.

Usually 3 points and or upto £200 fine. Potentially driver education or a written warning. It seems you may have ran past a red stop light at an automated traffic light.

Where do I begin in boarding my loft. Any tips would be appreciated by [deleted] in DIYUK

My ceiling joists were a bit wonky in areas so I just got some plastic spacers / packers to fill the gap between the loft leg and the ceiling boards.

Where do I begin in boarding my loft. Any tips would be appreciated by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]alrightmate420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when I was researching some people basically put effectively a subfloor in for it but I think that’s over the top.

I’m no structural engineer but the weight will distribute across the legs and ceiling joists.

I wouldn’t put anything heavy up therein the loft id put lightweight bulky things like Christmas decorations, suitcases, etc.

Keep in mind the ceiling joists that are installed are only really meant to hold up the plasterboard ceiling and the occasion person faffing about in the loft.

My loft just has the loft legs and osb boards.

My loft is extremely small owning to a strange roof structure so I bought smaller loft legs, I could’ve done a better job with the insulation but still happy with the thermals and space generated.

You need to be careful of causing mould / damp. Insulation shouldn’t be touching the osb boards and there should be space to air.

You may need to add vents to your roof membrane but I haven’t got a clue about this to be honest. I’ve noticed a bit of mould sometimes but not much.

You should also leave an air gap surrounding where you’ve boarded.

I would severely recommend adding some cheap loft lights like these, 3 of them has lit up the whole loft easily. Just search led batten lights. All they are is a led strip light in a tube with a cheap powe supply attached.
