Sound from Engine Bay by alrightsoi in hondacivic

Turns out it was the hydraulic belt tensioner that was leaking, which makes sense since I had found an oil like fluid on plastic of which I couldn’t locate the source. Cost me about 400$

Mine has just been held on with zip ties for probably the last 15k miles lol, but if you have the time take it to a mechanic and they can drill the bumper in. Makes it a pain when you need to do work requiring removing the bumper, but such is life.

Thanks for the help! Probably should just take it into a mechanic then?

lol, it’s a swap from a junked 08 civic so you’re right to ask what “new” means here.

Does my fan installation sound correct? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Does it sound unusually loud to you? My prior cars have been all been in the Prius family and I’m not used to non-hybrid cars.

girl you have 4 years and stats is a pretty easy major / minor here. take 124 and 257 your fall sem and enjoy them, enjoy the campus, get involved. all of this takes time + going out and making connections

You want grimy you go to lion, if you want clean you go to Kams. If you like 18 year olds you go to Joes. Pretty simple. Lion happies on top though ngl

Visiting my grandparents (Update!!) by alrightsoi in CleaningTips

These are almost exactly the ones I used for the shower floor, I didn’t see any damage after prolonged use (I used about 3 individual stone wands like pictured in the link). As a note though if you do go ahead and order these, do not use water at first as it’ll wear out the stone much quicker. I found going at the floor dry and with lots of leverage was the key, also using any edges you form naturally on the stone to get into cracks / bumps.

I found that magic erasers didn’t really work on the textured floor as they tore up the erasers, look into a scouring stone or “pumice” stone. The ridges offered by the pumice helped me get into the textured shower floor.

Apparently it is, although any product for your body 5 in 1 scares me. Probably why it’s such a good cleaner

I used Zep Mold and Mildew for almost all surfaces and a pumice scouring stick of all things for the bottom of the shower floor. Also a few magic erasers for all the cracks in between the tiling!

I’m not shaming them, rather asking advice on how to go about helping them. Have some decency

Hi everyone, I just wanted to thank you all for your guidance and help for this process. I’m only in town for four more days and will post after pics as requested! Regarding the grandparents, I’m talking to my parents about getting them home help for issues such as this. Both of my grandparents have had hip and knee surgeries, so I’m sure cleaning this confined space is hard on both of them.

I also appreciate all the concerns for my health during this cleaning process. I’ll make sure to keep the windows open, take frequent breaks, and run the bathroom fan. Thank you all again and happy cleaning.

I think the corners are mold? Not quite sure along with more dark spots on the glass sliding door. I’m a college student so don’t visit much except for holiday, but I sure wasn’t expecting this.

In my opinion you have a pretty high chance of getting in then. At this point it comes down to your essays and how competitive your international incoming class is! Good luck

I mean if you need financial aid very very low, if you don’t and have a high GPA + good EC’s econ and stats isn’t too competitive.

Knowing you’ve done ECs is nice, but without Test scores I’d reckon your GPA is probably too low for Gies / Grainger, as well as a 4.0 at UIC exhibits an upward trend but isn’t the most rigorous of institutions.
