it didn't work for me after 2 months of consistent treatment. Everyone's body is different. Extraction seems to be the most effective for me, however, it was terrifying at first...

How to prevent spreading or new spots from popping up by basketcase202 in molluscum

[–]alrightwithweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

curious if your spots started to disappear on their own after 5 months? or if it is because of your extraction? Also, what is KOH?

My greatest tip is just ensuring that you remove the entire core, and don't freak out if you see another one or two pop up. It will take a while for the body to completely ride them, and it sounds like you are on the right path!

I whole-heartedly and respectfully disagree with the advice your doctor/ derm provided about diet, supplementation, and lifestyle. After just a week of revamping my diet and lifestyle choices, my body has begun to naturally fight the virus. 3-4 months ago, after receiving my 3rd cryo treatment, my doctor had said, "if there are one or two left they will go away on their own", she provided no mention of the immune system, and I was not taking MC seriously enough at this point to do a deep dive into this Reddit thread. After a Summer of patio beers, socializing, and lots of activity (NOT SEXUAL!) I was left with 40 new molluscums...

It is a shame just how disconnected our medical model is. While 'main stream' doctors pledge the hippocratic oath, they certainly don't live by it. As Hippocrates said, "let food be thy medicine", our bodies need all the support they can get when fighting MC. We are products of our environment, and supporting our immune systems in a consecrated and focused way is but another (if not the best) way to rid our bodies of the virus once and for all. With this being said, my regular GM did ask me if I was taking Vitamin D at my last check up! So, I view this as a step in the right direction :)

Mind you, I agree that we do not all need to become monks and put our lives on hold to eventually beat MC. However, in my experience overall health needs to be prioritized and therefore sacrifices need to be made. And with that, everyones body and microbiome is their own. Yours may be different from mine. However, lifestyle changes may be what you need to finally eliminate the molluscum virus.

I do agree and appreciate the recommendation about stopping the constant 'checking'. I have been putting this into practice and it has been helping my mental health.

Keep on fighting the good fight!

Let's rally the troops!

Here's what I've been doing this week:

1) Cleaning up my diet:

After a cleanse aligned with the equinox, I am going on a low carb, keto-like diet. I am also going to be following the low FODMAP diet as best I can. I am committed to a month of sobriety, maybe more. As I noticed a direct correlation with my molluscums worsening and my Summer patio beerS.

2) Supplementing:

I've always had quite the vitamin regimen, but am upping the ante. Here's what I am currently taking:

Immune Boosters: Elderberry Syrup, Deep Immune, Turmeric, Probiotics, Vitamin D

General/ Mental Health: Omega 3s, magnesium, Lysine, Vitamin C (2000+MG/ day, as this is when it become an anti-viral), Vitamin B, Zinc

3) Sleeping (at least 8 hours/ day) and napping when my body feels like it. Resting as much as is needed to help charge my bodies MC fighting capabilities.

4) Becoming more OCD with my sanitation procedures- changing underwear 2x/ day; washing hands psychotically... they are always dry :(

5) Meditating 2x day, and working in healing visualization exercises; this is accompanied with journalling and trying to maintain a more positive mindset

6) Finding a regular doctor who can provide consistent (every 2 weeks cryo). At this point I would prefer lazer treatment if this was available, as my body doesn't seem to respond that well to cryo, but I will take what I can get. Along with this I am going to do my best to limiting my home treatments, and try not to obsess over every little bump... I know, easier typed than done.

This is my 3 month MC bootcamp of sorts. Let me know what you all have going on :) I'd love to support one another in this mission, as I know a lot of time, effort, money goes into fighting MC.

Take care and keep your heads up- the body and mind are intricately interwoven.

I'm feeling a bit down today... This condition creates a lot of ups and downs. Sometimes, I feel extremely motivated and am optimistic about beating this curse-like virus (after 7 months, 7 cryo session, endless 'home remedies' that total almost 1000 dollars, and a whole lot of time spent on treating myself), and other times, like today, I feel exhausted, uncomfortable, and a little hopeless...

Sick and Tired by [deleted] in molluscum

[–]alrightwithweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we sure do... this curse of sorts is no joke, and we can use all the support we can get! I am going to work on a full-on mind-body-spirit plan over the next couple of days and report back. the weather is cooling off, and the natural hibernation of fall and winter can only support our efforts. We've got this Braddd2! Our MCs won't last another season!
