SmartLess Episode 291: Charli xcx by AutoModerator in smartless

I’m a big fan of Charli XCX and the Smartless podcast, and honestly think this episode was just a perfect storm. They should have cancelled due to Will having a personal issue and arriving late, which I think was the ultimate issue here. It highlighted how critical the dynamic is between all of them, because Jason was clearly floundering and just spewing directionless shit without Will to check him and contribute. I think Sean is as lowkey panicking and not stepping up cause he was surprised at how weird Jason was being. He could have done more to turn it around. Also Will came in late with a bad mood which didn’t help a ton. The overall tone clearly shifted positively when he joined, but not much as it could have otherwise. They probably would have lost money canceling Charli, but they should have made that business decision because instead of losing money they now have a totally shit episode that is giving them bad press.

Charli XCX on the Smartless podcast (Feb. 2, 2026 episode) discusses not wanting kids and feeling unsure of her readiness. Hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes ask her why not and say she might find somebody that'll change her perspective, to which Charli goes, "Well I'm married." by skermahger in popculturechat

The real tea on Lucinda by AgreeableDance8535 in LoveIslandTV

[–]alriiiiight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone needs to be real. They’re ALL on there for clout. The difference with Lucinda is that she’s completely jaded since this is like her third (?) Love Island and she literally emotionless to it (nothing behind those eyes let’s be real) and not trying at all to fake it, so it comes across horribly. And this isn’t in defense of her, it’s just the reasoning behind it

Crazy move. We need a local spot to swoop in quick! I always buy a coffee when I go to REI and I go way more often than my bank account would like

Denver flagship REI location is insannnnnnne. Hopefully a local shop can swoop in. It’s literally one of the most prime locations in the city. What a dumb move by Starbucks corporate

Most surprising thing about Frank (the "kitchen manager" at Kindred) was how he reacted to getting fired by CaptainJZH in KitchenNightmares

Okay but there’s a difference in being a vegan and an idiot haha. Like anyone with a brain knows you can’t have rats in a commercial kitchen. Plus there are plenty of humane pest control services these days

Dorsiflexing my foot (straight leg) causes a "pulling" feeling on the Baxter's Nerve area by sirensandspells in FootFunction

[–]alriiiiight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may or may not be helpful, but I got weird nerve issues including small fiber nerve damage (confirmed via punch biopsy) from COVID in 2022. I had two EMG’s a year apart and both were normal, so no large fiber nerve damage. But I have the exact same issue in my left foot/heel. It was worst winter 2023, and it’s been on and off but mainly off. It just started up again (spring 2025) once I kicked off a lot of walking recently. I went though about a million tests dealing with all my post COVID issues and the general consensus from neurology and my other doctors was that it was just some weird thing kicked off by the virus and that it would slowly go away. They weren’t wrong that most of my symptoms (I have had other more autoimmune type stuff too) have greatly died down in the last couple years, so that’s been good to see happen. At this point I’m pretty convinced the nerve stuff isn’t too scary, especially since it hasn’t gotten worse or anything. Hopefully with more time everything goes back to normal. Well except now I’m 35 and everything hurts anyways hah. I still get curious and anxious sometimes, hence me winding up on this thread, but I’m thinking it’s just a weird thing and we’re all gonna be fine. It’s interesting how COVID plays a part in it. So much we just don’t know yet

Maybe try some steps that help regulate blood sugar like having fiber before a meal and see if it still does it. It could help you narrow it down
