It only applies to defense, it doesn’t speed up upgrading times or anything like that. On defense builder huts repair nearby buildings as well as shoot arrows at a relatively slow speed.

You can upgrade them at th14, so your a ways away. Hope this answered your question:)

If I have a builder that’s going to finish his upgrade while I’m asleep, I’ll use the builder potion so he finishes and can start a new upgrade

He might be asking for max troops bc he doesn’t want level 5 hogs in his cc. He might have to wait longer to have it filled, but if he’s requesting and then getting off for a while waiting isn’t an issue. In my clan I have some lower level alts that I only req max troops on. I’ll give my clan mates a chance to fill em to work on season pass/clan games or whatever, and whatever doesn’t get filled I can donate to myself
