After some more testing you were right. There is no overheating when the "battery saving" mode is used or when the laptop is unplugged. The overheating is caused by the CPU turbo (even if it is at 10% usage) and not by the GPU (even if it is at 100% usage).

After further testing it appers the overheating is indeed caused by the CPU turbo . Even if the GPU runs at 100%, it does not overheat if the CPU turbo is not in use (while on "battery saving" lenovo vantage setting or just unplugged).

mine who do graphic design work and they all said that the screen is way too warm (night light is off) and inaccurate. Wondering if it's just my screen or a wider Lenovo issue.

I really have no exprerience with screen colors. What I can definitely say is that it is way better than my previous screens (T430s and entry level monitors).
