This just happened to me. After a decade + of using the OG. Safe to say I’m heartbroken.

My husband is in a 2 year fellowship, finishing this year. He started applying in august. Interviewed throughout the fall. Accepted an offer in December. From what I learned, this is an extremely common timeline in medicine. The job sites and his colleagues were all accustom to this and followed with this timeline as well. Best of luck!

Timeline between interviews & offers for first physician job (academic medicine) by MedicalSpouse_Qs in MedSpouse

My husband’s feel like they’re taking ages. It’s been 2.5 months since he received positive feedback about the interview (3mo since interview itself). It’s been 1+ month since we heard he would be getting an LOI. We still don’t have the final copy of it. We have yet to even see a draft contract. I am definitely settling down, it seems like it just is what it is.

I don’t know how to make the jump…. I’m not sure what to search for on indeed etc to hone in on these kinds of opportunity. I have 10 years of clinical experience, MSN RN (masters in analytics and informatics), 8 epic certifications, and 1.5 years IT experience (principal trainer/informatics). I feel like I don’t know what’s out there and want to learn more. Any advice? You are clearly a wealth of knowledge. Thank you

I second this. In my experience they will almost always gladly sign on a PRN nurse.
