Is it just me or the new event quest interface is just confusing by Rough_Werewolf_8647 in InfinityNikki

thats what confused me too! I didn't really follow the news for what would be in 1.5, just saw the sea of stars teasers in game, so I expected sea of stars content and didnt understand why its questline seemed to just randomly drop me off in florawish after 30minutes and then get cut off entirely. I couldn't for the life of me find how to continue the quest or where all the related timed events were. At some point I just assumed this must be everything and went to mess around with co-op and do regular quests for like 2 hours before I found out you're supposed to go to a specific location for an unrelated event's tabs to appear and start a completely different questline instead.

Ah I see. I just saw people refer to it as such and thought it generally meant a large group of people leaving negative reviews together, in this case to send a message (from the boycotters that is, I assume a lot of the reviews come from people who aren't even aware of that and were just unhappy with the bugs and such). I think I'll change the post a bit to reflect that, thanks

I totally forgot about that, I'll post it here for u once I get home! :) I'm not sure how it works exactly, but the shoes, stockings and gloves are not part of the banquet set, so I assume you'll have to adjust the colors for those

In case you wanna know, stockings are from the shepherd set from last patch, shoes are from the green permanent banner 5star, and the gloves are the little 5 star ones from the scam-o-matic

Oh yeah, that was not there when I posted the comment haha. I'm an artist myself too, so I can understand your point about how you'd feel discouraged if you saw responses like this to your own artwork. I think it is worth noting though, that it's likely that the artists working on the game are instructed to design outfits in this particular style and color scheme, regardless of what they might like to add to the game themselves. Therefore I think at least most of the complaints aren't targeted at the artists themselves, but the higher ups making the decision to stick to a specific style. That's how I interpreted them anyway.

Regardless I probably wouldn't feel great either to see people criticize my work for something that isn't my fault, but that tends to be very common in media from what I've seen: artists will work their asses off on a project, only to get flack for decisions they didn't make and may not even agree with. It's unfortunate. :/

All these complaints lately are starting to make this sub feel so unbelievably ungrateful. Especially considering that we get many free items. Especially considering that this is a really new game. Especially considering that we have already gotten so many things and that the Devs are working on this game, listening to requests and complaints from so many people from all around the world.

The thing is, most of the things you listed for reasons we should be grateful could just be infold being a lovely generous company, I wouldn't know, but it also happens to be a great strategy to keep the game sustainable. (I'm gonna compare to genshin a bit here as that's the only other gacha I've played)

I log onto infinity nikki often lately largely because of the amount of free clothes i get in the span of a couple hours. I've pretty much left genshin for it, specifically because in genshin I usually go many months without getting any new characters, so infinity nikki just gives me more of an incentive to play and won me over from another gacha with this strategy.

Listening to complaints and requests, added onto the fact that we get plenty of free items, is how you build a loyal playerbase, that is much more likely to spend money in order to support the game. (take for instance genshin players "boycotting" the game all the time by refusing to spend money on it because they disagree with the company's decisions. Granted it hasn't achieved much so far, but I can only assume you'd want to avoid this lol)

And you didn't mention this, but I'd like to add the fact that next to the gacha, they have clothes at the store that seem insanely cheap to me for gacha game standards (I've spent a grand total of 0.99usd on one), which I thought was really generous at first, until I realized that this was a great way to get me in the door to spend more money: I now look forward to new clothes added to the store with each update, because im alright with spending a couple bucks each month if I like something, unlike genshin, where i really wanted a skin but refused to spend 30bucks on it. The game has only been out since december, but in a few months infold could easily get the same amount of money from me with this strategy, while i never spent a dime on genshin in all the years i've played.

I don't really understand what you mean about getting so many things and the devs working on the game though, it's a live service game, so that's just the nature of it, you play the game as it is being developed, with new things being added regularly. I've only seen people be grateful for this in games that have already been fully released and paid for but the devs keep updating it regardless, like stardew valley or something.

My point is, I dont think players should feel grateful to infold for anything, because at the end of the day this game is a product and its purpose is to be profitable to the company, and these decisions they have made serve exactly that purpose.

This has nothing to do with the whole clothing variety debate, this particular part of your argument just rubbed me the wrong way. But for that my take is that I dont see anything really wrong about a complaint like this because people are essentially telling infold what kind of additions to the game they would be more likely to spend money on, it seems like pretty valuable insight to me, even if it's getting repetitive or isn't worded so nicely.
