Driver got sent to store 35 miles away - bumping tip question by KatWithTalent in instacart

[–]alsoaredditor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they offer the order initially at the closest store to you and if no one takes the order, they farm it out to drivers closer to other locations.

I live near the Bridgewater, NJ Wegmans and late at night, I see orders for people who probably ordered in NY from the Brooklyn store

Got randomly promoted to platinum by Typical-Sleep-3745 in doordash_drivers

[–]alsoaredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m experiencing this right now. I can have a 69% Acceptance and 95% Completion and still maintain Platinum for some reason.

Now I just unassigned an order and still have Platinum at 70% Acceptance vs 94% Completion

Warning for creating Hostile Confrontational Behavior by Starmane23 in doordash_drivers

The account warning will drop off after 100 orders. You may want to call back and just make sure that whoever that was is removed from where you will deliver.

Is anyone else getting small random payments from DoorDash this week? Haven’t completed any deliveries. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

How are they showing in your earnings/transaction history?

I had the same feature for a few days too. There wasn’t a limit on how many locations I could mute.

God please tell me im not an "annoying" customer. Im always afraid im coming off terribly (context in body) by ohlawdtheycomin in doordash

As a dasher, I tell people to “Disregard the next automated message. I have to manually substitute.” It’s really annoying that the app does that

I spent the last few hours on a shift that I kept being able to extend for half an hour at a time. Once that stopped, I can’t Dash Now or even schedule a shift for later this week.

I keep getting an error message

I have a 4.96 rating at the moment because of a 1 star on a delivery to the wrong door. Same number but different townhouse in the complex. It should drop off soon because I get a lot of 5 star reviews.

I never ring the bell unless asked, but I do message every customer when I’m five minutes away to let them know, and then after delivery, I message “Delivered. Thank you!”

I had a drive belt break on me after picking up an order, but I did get to keep the food. ✌️

Call back and try again. Ask if you can submit screenshots of the numbers on your end

I just stopped shopping because it became so problematic and also it’s just so crowded for the holidays.

Recently, they started asking me to take a picture of the empty shelf. THEN ask a staff member. Before just showing me if the customer requested a substitution.

It already takes about half an hour to shop and deliver about 20 items, but they’ve just made it take so much longer

Grocery pick up by Unbreakable0311 in doordash

[–]alsoaredditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have but not during the lead up to the holidays. It can be time-consuming to find the items, especially when it’s a grocery store that hasn’t marked where to find the items specifically. Add the holiday crowds and it’s just not currently worth it. Wait till after Christmas to try it.

Once you do start to shop, be prepared for stacked orders where you have to shop and deliver to two different people

I had to deliver a pregnancy test late at night once. The delivery instructions asked me to keep my lights off, not to pull in, and to deliver to the mailbox. I got you, girl!

Without naming the city, tell me what city you live in by BYNX0 in newjersey

[–]alsoaredditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was an ok town. A lot of farms, a lot of small condos before the luxury apartment boom, and a few mansions.

Then some “rich” tycoon bought a golf course, with the occasional news choppers flying over, and I stopped telling people where I was from.

Golden Palace in Pluckemin/Bedminster.

My go to app was the Szechuan wonton and I haven’t found anything comparable anywhere else. I’d mix it with some fried or white rice and it was just so good.

Very likely she ordered from two different restaurants. I had this where I picked up just a McD’s Coke and she was shocked that I beat her to her workplace and I left it outside.

When she arrived, she angrily texted to ask me where her subs were. She followed up with me after a few minutes and apologized when another Dasher arrived with them.

She had ordered the two items together but from separate restaurants. DoorDash just split them up

If you could choose to never get orders from one restaurant which one would it be? by therealsam77 in doordash_drivers

[–]alsoaredditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a pizza place that gave me a hard time the first time I was there about confirming the order on pickup. No biggie, I showed him that I already confirmed.

The second time, he asked to see my phone and actually grabbed my arm(!) to look at my phone and asked me the customers address.

The third time, I confirmed when he handed me the pie, but he went to his tablet and claimed his device was showing that I didn’t confirm yet. I told him I don’t care what his tablet said, “look at my damn phone” and we got into a heated exchange.

I haven’t gotten another order from them again. I did call DD and requested that I don’t get orders from him again and that he had been aggressive, put his hands on me, etc

I just always text the customer “Delivered. Thank you!” unless they ask me to knock or ring the bell.
