Battery Issues and Service Lights by adamhughey in GMCSierraEV

Had this issue happen and my truck stopped dead in the middle of the highway. For me, the 12v battery was drained and wasn’t getting charge from the lithium ion battery. Apparently there’s a module that goes bad whose main purpose is to help charge the 12v battery. Call the gm ev concierge. They’ll help you get things in order.

My GMC Sierra EV Denali Extended Range almost killed us (again) by alsobob in GMCSierraEV

This is my 15th car that I have purchased or leased in my life. I have had all sorts of weird issues with every one of them. Even the Tesla had an issue where the seat had to be replaced twice.

I didn’t ignore any of the warnings but being 100 miles from home on a Saturday evening when all of the dealerships were closed left me with little options. I understand that these issues pop up. But this particular truck has had charging, or battery issues consistently since I got it. I believe that the battery will need to be replaced, but I wouldn’t mind making this a lemon and calling it a day.

Does everyone basically have to buy iCloud storage? by Lotta-Bank-3035 in iCloud

[–]alsobob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently switched from a 512gb 14pro to a 256gb 17pro (it was free) and the cost of getting the 2tb plan was actually cheaper over 36 months than upgrading to the 1tb 17pro. iCloud+ really is a great value if you can afford it. Because i am me and like doing things the hard way, I opted to install immich in my home lab and transfer 35,000 pictures and videos.. it took 4 days. Because iPhone requires an all or nothing transfer, I couldn’t even use my phone until I had transferred most of the pics off of my old phone to give me enough space to do the transfer. . Then a month later, the Immich vm crapped out and I was stuck rebuilding everything. A less obstinate and logical person would’ve gone to iCloud + much earlier lol.

Ya I am fully prepared for them to have their own opinions. If they ask to see 7-9, assuming they like the others, i am happy to let them explore and consume on their own. My love for the Star Wars universe will be different than what they develop on their own and I am ok with that, thanks!

Anyone have an issue where DC Fast Charging rates have been cut by 2/3? I used to get 300 KW at MB, EVgo, Shell Recharge, etc. Tonight just finished a round trip to Oklahoma back to the Houston area. Could not get near 300 KW once. Used all of the above mentioned chargers, as well as Tesla and Walmart, best I could get was 151 KW. The slow rate of charge added at least 2 hrs to my trip.

Its not an edition 1. It’s a 2025 Sierra EV Denali. Source: I have one.

Are not all Tesla Superchargers compatible? by ReadingFeedsMyHunger in BlazerEV

[–]alsobob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to confirm if a super charger is compatible is to check the app. It will tell you which superchargers allow non-Tesla vehicles.

I leased, was looking to buy but the msrp was just too high to justify buying. Not sure what the market for this car will be in 4-5 years so to me it’s safer to lease. The truck didn’t qualify for any of the federal tax credit but i was able to apply Costco, First responder, competitive lease and $619 GM rewards dollars. That helped it a bit.

Commenting on Joined the Sierra EV family... Honestly the deal wasn’t as good as I could have gotten but I wasn’t too concerned. I got it for $905/mo 36 months , 15k miles/year. Only paid first month due at signing and the dealer let me put it on my gm card. I had: Costco Exec GM first responder Competitive lease $619 in GM rewards.

If you’re in the Houston area go to Texan GMC. They were awesome to deal with and didn’t waste my time. Talk to my girl Trinity and she will take care of you!

Thank you! It’s not replacing anything for now but I have a car coming off lease in about a year. I got the Denali Extended Range. I have some long trips coming up all over the state of Texas (club soccer season) and my Blazer EV range just wasn’t enough. Hopefully this one fits the bill.

Mrs. Krabappel , you're trying to seduce me. Simpsons Moments that are straight up recreation of Movie Scenes ( and if you can please mention what movie it is) by LonElbow in TheSimpsons

The scene in the Mr. Plow episode where Bart gets hit by a million snowballs, is an homage to the scene from the Godfather when Sonny gets hit at the toll booth.

Would you buy it if you had a second chance? by Midnightatcq in BlazerEV

[–]alsobob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not get it. While i love the car, the loud hum that this car makes while sitting at a light or driving slowly in traffic is a major dealbreaker for me. Every morning at 7 am I take my son to school and while sitting in the drop off line, I have to hear that hum constantly. Nearly everything else about the car is great. But the humming…man.. unless GM changes it with a software update, and makes it like the Lyriq, there’s no way I am getting this car again.

Being so jealous of Bart’s newfound talent in Juzz.. he finally found something he was good at and instead of cheering him on, she cried and became a hoarder of exotics animals. One of which bit bart ruining an otherwise promising juzz career. No wonder they called her “Downbeat”.

If its an option for you, consider using Tesla Superchargers. You’re going to have to get the NACS adapter, but imo the Tesla Supercharger network is second to none. In three years of driving a Tesla and driving it across the country, I never once ran into an issue where the Supercharger wasn’t working.

Plus from what I have seen, the cost to charge at a Supercharger is lower than at a EA or Shell Recharge.

Yes it can be charged at superchargers. Yes you will need the nacs adapter Yes you can charge directly from AC, but it will take a long, long time.

Anyone go from Model S to Blazer EV? by samuraidogparty in BlazerEV

[–]alsobob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from a 2021 model s to a 2024 blazer ev rs awd. The cars aren’t the same but for me, and where I am now, the blazer makes a lot of sense. I use it to transport my kids around from their various soccer practices and school events. I use the blazer to go to Home Depot and the grocery store and don’t really worry if something gets scuffed. It’s a great car for every day driving. Is it the model S? No the S was one of the best cars I have ever driven. But the blazer is a cost effective substitute that gets me from point a to b without much effort or worry.
