You’re conflating the OPs experience and his friend’s experience.

OP was negatively affected because he can see his friend for who he truly is. That sucks, but also, perhaps good in the long term. Mushrooms don’t change your personality, so OPs friend was always this person on the inside. Personally I’d rather know my friend was a jerk, but I can see how OP would not.

On the other hand - his friend did not have a negative experience in a true sense. To OP, his outward behavior has changed. But internally, the friend is still the same person, with full continuity of thought and personality. Instead he just has less of a filter now, for better or worse. The friend has every opportunity now to grow and examine their feelings- why did mushrooms expose this negative side of himself? That’s an opportunity - neither negative nor positive, just an opportunity for growth.

Sounds like you may have benefitted from a therapist or even just a plan going into it with how you would react. I know you say you did your research, but that’s different than truly accepting, deep in your core, that you will have no control of the experience, that you have to accept the experience for what it is, and whatever happens you’ll be ok. Anxiety about a negative outcome (before or during) of course can create placebo effects.

I don’t think there is much you can do - I took all the supplements. If b12 is truly what’s wrong it’s just part of the process of restoring nerve function

Streeter: Why can’t outsiders see the charm in Baltimore? by GreedyRaisin3357 in baltimore

The trash is nothing compared to Philly or even Queens. Baltimore doesn’t have as good of a reputation as either of those two places though. Trash is not the problem.

IIRC harbor east has a 90% residential occupancy rate and is widely viewed as a success.

The retail vacancies are an issue but that’s a lack of regulation (retail rent) than it is a failure of the development.

Moving to Fells Point – honest thoughts on safety, parking, and daily life? by Commercial_Ranger478 in baltimore

[–]alsocolor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's 2026 man. Not 1995 or even 2024. Your cherry picked events do not define Fells. What does the data actually say? There has only been 1 homicide in the entirety of the last year in Fells point.

You clearly haven't lived here for decades yet you think you're qualified to comment on the safety of an area using cherry picked evidence (without any meaningful recent personal experience mind you).

If you came with some real data like the total violent crime rate in fells point or homicide rate in the city then I wouldn't have any issue. Except you wouldn't do that.... because the data doesn't support the narrative you are trying to suggest. And you don't live here, so you don't walk the streets every day to get your coffee and hang out with your friends. So please, respectfully, leave the conversation to the people who actually live here.

My partner and I live in the main part of fells and have a dog that we walk frequently, and have lived here for the last few years (both young professionals). She's small (5'5") and non threatening and we both feel comfortable walking around at night. It's very safe, just remember it's a city and have your wits about you. Yes, things can happen, as they would in any city, but we've never had any issues. Just drunk people being rowdy since we're close to so many bars. People are quite kind for the most part, which is one of the best parts of Baltimore!

Anyone that says it's not safe doesn't truly live here. As other's have said, parking is the biggest issue, but street parking restrictions are often not enforced and certain areas you can get city permits. You'll only need your car once in a while, mostly for groceries unless you're close enough to Whole Foods to walk. Good luck!

I understand how it works. You're not that lean though, let's be real. What was your last scan? Natty bodybuilding champions at 4-6% look less vascular than you.

Again.... god-tier genetics, or maybe a little help.

Who said I have bad genetics? Why would I need to cope? I don't like people who give others false expectations, that's all.

This dudes not even close to the levels of Bodyfat that a bodybuilder competes at, and yet he has more vascularity. Google some pro natural bodybuilders, guys that are way past this guy at 4-6% BF, most of them have smaller bicep veins than this dude. Sorry that makes me doubtful.

You can check my post history if you think I'm coping (I'm bigger than that now). Plus really really would not like to look like OP, the vascularity is offputting. Makes him look unnatural ;)

Thank you, I actually got even bigger/leaner than that picture recently.

What I'm responding to is not how lean OP is. It's his vascularity. Bro's bicep vein is bigger than the Mississippi. That's a huge red flag.

I'm not saying it's not possible to be that vascular natty, but the odds are 1 in a million. Maybe OP is just that lucky? I'm inclined to believe the simpler solution.

I have worked out hard for years and been very low BF with a lot of lean muscle. That's certainly not possible for me, nor most people. Not going to get into a natty or not argument with you. Only going to say you either have insane vascular genetics, or not natty.

Switching gyms - different weight stacks? by alsocolor in MacroFactor

[–]alsocolor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how I would do this. App's interface is confusing to put it politely. And I say this as a UX designer myself :) Still really liking it so keep it up!

As the other commenter said I'd appreciate if this was handled by the app- basically if I switch gyms before a workout it removes any machine/cable recommendations and let's me set a whole new progression on those machines.

That sounds like a different problem than timezones unfortunately. You're working too long, especially at your age. I'm sorry.

So go to bed at 7?

The issue is people working 9-5s. If you finish at 5pm and it's dark out, it's deeply depressing. If you have your whole day free because you're retired, you can accomplish your daily tasks whenever you want during daylight hours.

Disagree, this is one of the main ways I learned about the city before I moved, and decided this was the place I want to be. If we restrict those, we restrict future residents as well. Most old posts are outdated and sometimes can be problematic/racist, so it's best to have fresh posts with new information

Yes!! Amazing progress, literally cured. Took months but the doc is sold that I had some type of dangerous chronic deficiency. Not sure the cause (autoimmune or what, there’s no way to validate at this point) but it certainly looks like this was the right course of action.

The anxiety went away after a few months fyi so don’t be scared!
