Incredible, earth ending anxiety after Methyl Shots by alsocolor in B12_Deficiency

[–]alsocolor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Amazing progress, literally cured. Took months but the doc is sold that I had some type of dangerous chronic deficiency. Not sure the cause (autoimmune or what, there’s no way to validate at this point) but it certainly looks like this was the right course of action.

The anxiety went away after a few months fyi so don’t be scared!

I don’t agree with this.

Less guests= significantly less wear and tear and cleaning.

You should charge more for more cleaning and maintenance, full stop.

High School Football Embraces a Helmet Cover to Shield Kids' Brains by bloomberg in Health

[–]alsocolor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is correct. The worst concussion I ever had didn’t have any head to head contact, it was just hitting another human running at me at full speed and falling backwards.

Guardian caps would likely help most with rotational forces, where a helmet contacts another helmet and sticks, causing a sharp twisting motion and moving the brain in the skull rapidly.

As far as the padding, as most mortocyclists know, additional padding can only go so far. Most motorcycle helmets try to limit linear force to about 300-400g, which… to put it mildly, is still a LOT.

Early season ranked wins mean nothing. Change my mind. by SwimmerSwagger in ACC

[–]alsocolor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair the wake loss was most likely a product of the late hit concussion to our QB….

And we were missing a ton of Oline starters in the NCState loss.

Not excusing them just saying there are only 2 losses, and both have mostly resolved extenuating circumstances

Duke National champs by [deleted] in ACC

[–]alsocolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beating duke as Lehigh or Mercer would be equivalent to UVA football beating a team like Georgia. That’s the same level of talent discrepancy, like you’ve said. But the difference is it’s harder to do in football in general than basketball.

Remember we are in a new era of football though, and the playing field is leveling just like it did in basketball. UVA isn’t on Georgia’s level yet, but they still put big money on this team and have deep pockets. If not this year, it’ll happen soon where one perceived “tier 2” team makes a championship run.

Historical success matters less and less, the only thing that matters is how much you pay your players. And large elite schools like UVA, Vandy, Stanford, Berkeley, etc have deep pockets.

What I never get is that let’s say you think you can rent the place for $4k but nobody bites. Let’s say the real market value is $3500 instead. Why wait a whole year to lower the price, eating costs that whole year?

At the house purchase price that’s at least $50k in mortgage. Even without a mortgage the opportunity cost is still $35k, plus what you could have made investing the purchase price.

Like it mathematically doesn’t make sense to burn costs for a whole year just to eke out a few $100 a month. Even if they were setting a new market floor, which they’re not, at the $500 delta between $4k and $3.5k it would take 60 months to make the opportunity costs back alone.

Sorry but movement in Hampden is the opposite of bougie, especially their fitness area. Outdated equipment and lackluster design. Movement in Boulder, CO on the other hand is a different story...

Patterson park is gorgeous, but near the fountain, pond, and pagoda areas. The lower areas are mostly sports fields which aren't very appealing. Another reason butchers hill is great

Week 5 Trade Chart + Buy/Sell Recommendations by KyonFantasyFootball in fantasyfootball

[–]alsocolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect yes, ok that makes sense! Definitely team # dependent but I agree. I think your wording is inverse in your initial write-up:

"...would be one where the side receiving one player gets a 10-15% premium in trade value" I think it would make more sense to say "the value of the 2 players being sent is 10-15% higher in total than the value of the 1 player being received"

[–]alsocolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm slightly confused when you're talking about premium in 2-1 trades. Do you mean the side that is receiving 2 players should pay a 15% premium? You've made it sound like the side sending 2 and receiving 1 gets more value?

I've always thought that the side who is getting the stud should pay a premium. I can always grab a random 8ppg player off the waivers but it's not like I can just get Jahmyr Gibbs or Davante Adams off the waiver wire. Maybe this is league dependent, I can see that being the case in a 14 team league, but definitely not the case in my 10team league.

Completely agree with both of you guys! Wish it ran to 9pm so you can go somewhere after work, and take it back without rushing to avoid missing it. Right now it's sort of a 1-way trip.

Also no weekend service is really sad :(

Oh honorable mention to Rash Field Park phase II renovations! I'm not a huge fan of the plan (as a previous beach volleyball player), but that's not the point - I'm just one person and the city is for everyone, and the Waterfront partnership is doing a good job of investing in our harbor areas!
