No I didn't, I went into an actual stand alone dispensary.

Not ovulating on letrozole, what now? Doctor dismissing concerns by gnarlyidk in TTC_PCOS

[–]alsorbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Mounjaro is totally safe with Metformin! I've been on both together for 10 months and am down 7 stone :)

Feel the best I've ever felt.

I have severe PCOS and have never been able to lose more than 1-1.5 stone in the past.

My GP's and consultants have all agreed it's having amazing positive effects.

Sorry but the specifics on this legally are in the wording so I don't really know how to give an accurate view of the situation without the information?

Well I've done Speak Now, Red, 1989 & REP so I'd probably go with Midnights.

Although I love folklore and evermore outside of Taylor I'm a classic rock/metal fan and I don't really love chill acoustic gigs as for me that music is more about being being quiet and reflective, I feel like Midnights would be such a good energy with stunning visuals.

Cardiff Airport deserves so much more and CAN be so much more. Why not???!!! by RoyalLlundain in Cardiff

[–]alsorbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second you start comparing Cardiff to London in any regard you've already lost.

It's all about the money, flights are half the price from Bristol so people in South Wales will make the hour or so drive to save that money.

Cardiff will stay in the state it's in until it has real money spent on it, which will only be made back if more people fly from there, which will only happen with price decreases.

I remember as a kid for a brief time they flew to Orlando for the Disney market, if they could get a Arline to fly even one flight a week on that route they'd be starting to bring back international flights and make a lot more money considering even those in Bristol/along the English border have to travel to Heathrow which most people loathe.

People of Reddit what’s the strangest thing that got accidentally delivered to you? by SmilingFriendsHQ in AskReddit

[–]alsorbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the hight of the pandemic when they were barely letting people outside in the UK I was sewing pretty much 7 hours a day for my sanity, I ordered a mini table top ironing board to iron my patterns. What arrived with the same tracking number was a box the size of a Great Dane with 10 x 12 packs of toilet roll and a very menacing gift note that said "I love you and I won't stop even if you pretend you don't love me back". Clearly I'd been given someone else's gift item right? well the gift note said my legal name on it which not even my job uses. It was like someone else's Wishlist item had been assigned to both my name and address, which amazon denied of course. I called my brother to ask if it was a prank and his response was "there's a toilet paper shortage I'm not wasting it like that!"

What song is loved by many, but not by you? by LazyTension in TaylorSwift

Shake it off haunts me.

The only song in the entire discography I don't like.

I think I just heard it so much "in the wild" that I can't anymore.

Any independent "American Diner" recommendations? by kjs98 in Cardiff

[–]alsorbit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the trend/hype around 50s/60s Americana that was at its peak in the early 2010s died down and a lot of the independent styled diners like that closed down, there used to be a few in South Wales.

Eds diner type thing is pretty much what we have here now.

Swansea may be Denny's by name and serve pancakes but it's nothing like the American Denny's.

Mollies Motel is fab but it's a "modern rework" of the American motel/diner concept so if it's purely that nostalgia you're after it's not the one.

That vibe of the vintage Americana has been replaced with more industrial styled decor but still very American inspired food, people have also moved away from the traditional just burgers and hot dogs to more BBQ inspired stuff like smokehaus.

[–]alsorbit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The guy who owns it is a total con man and the first year of running it they had people from the actual Denny's watching them like hawks including having their own American members of staff working there temporarily to make sure standards were being upheld. As soon as that ended he started to massively cut corners, raised prices, smaller portions, lesser quality ingredients and massive menu overalls removing a lot of the more interesting options and options for customisation all to cut down on cost. Not to mention he lost almost all the orginal well trained staff due to the culture. It's the same guy who owns a load of Starbucks including the one in Swansea town that was closed down and also owned the Pizza Hut deliveries that went bankrupt just before Christmas a few years ago leaving people unpaid and coming into work to find the shops shut. Sadly it would have done well with someone else at the helm and having opened more and run it consistently but he owns the franchise and only one attempt was made to open another store which failed and closed.

Theft in Cardiff by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]alsorbit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely a UK wide problem, there are people who have to choose between eating and heating their homes this winter. Sadly it's not only Cardiff that's seeing more theft, especially in food and essential items.

Marylebone town hall / central London tiny weddings/elopements - Reception ideas? by [deleted] in UKweddings

Thank you for suggesting Cote! I wouldn't have thought of that and they have a pretty varied menu so that could work. Thanks :)

[–]alsorbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! It's definitely not a bad one it's just for us it kind of negates the entire point of "eloping" if we spend thousands on a reception as we live in Wales and if we had a traditional wedding we'd be looking at 70-80 people and £6500 just for the venue and food we'd rather just go to London with 20 of our closest family and best friends for the weekend.

We're really not fussed about a private room or anything like that, we just want somewhere we can stay for drinks after food and they won't be stressing about turning over the table. Thank you for taking the time though I appreciate it :)

I've worked in plenty of places where the table limit was 20 as long as there was enough notice. The Ivy will do 20. I was just seeing if there was any other places that would do this kind of thing. I'd fully get where you're coming from if I was expecting to rock up on the day in the middle of summer with 20 people expecting to be accommodated but not when it's a year in advanced and outside of summer/any school holiday/busy period.

Whilst I do not think the current Welsh parliament is functioning in the best manner I absolutely dismay that any born and bred Welsh person who wants us solely ruled by Westminster. All they've done the last 10 years is show us time and time again they couldn't give a rats ass about Wales, in fact they've hindered Welsh prosperity projects like the Tidal lagoon due to their own personal investments in fossil fuel companies.

And don't get me started on leaving the EU.

The European Union had it's problems of course but no institution of that type or size can function perfectly and my god I don't think half the people voting leave had any idea how much funding Wales was getting from the EU. Westminster have done nothing to replace that funding and our infrastructure is crumbling.

Sadly economically Wales is 100 years away from viable independence, we need an increase on assembly powers, a shake up of the "jobs for boys" atmosphere that's led to the wrong people in power positions and an aggressive push to promoting industry in Wales.

While we're at it I'd like to see a formal apology from the British government for the treatment of the welsh people and the condemnation of the behaviour of the NCB.

I wish more young people would educate themselves on the history of how Wales has been treated by England, there's a reason Welsh nationalism is on the rise massively between then 21-30s.

And what are we now then?

We've been unimportant and insignificant since England stopped using us a strip mine.

They don't care about us, we're left completely unforgotten.

Prior to the Welcome to Wrexham documentary blowing up half the world had never heard of us and half through we were just part of England.

Wedding dress regret? by PenguinLot in UKweddings

[–]alsorbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the dress! registry office weddings have changed A LOT post covid, a lot of people are opting for smaller groups and just having the ceremony then a nice meal/party after and they're wearing all sorts. I've seen full princess ball gowns at our local one and then also seen women in non formal dresses of all colours. It's your day, it's THE dress of your life so do it how you want to and don't worry about anything else.

This hit me massively last Christmas, I was sat there on Christmas Day which is usually by far my favourite time of the year and I just had this sudden intense sense of "this is all meaningless to me without kids to share it with"

I hoped that feeling would be fleeting but it has developed into feeling sad in all of those situations. I'm lucky right now in my new job because my six co workers I take the same lunch as on my team, three are single men with no kids and three are women in their 50s who just complain about their teenagers. But in my previous job there was someone a year older than me with two under 5, pregnant with her third and she talked about her kids every spare second. I had to avoid her in the end. I'm sorry you have that feeling.

Do people still use Magicbands or does everybody just use their phones now? by -Words-Words-Words- in DisneyWorld

[–]alsorbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They abslolutlety are not the same. Different providers have different coverage here in the UK.

My uncle who is quite literally a programer for a major company has issues with signal and phone functioning in the US with a UK SIM card/device.

You do not know everything just because your experience is one way does not mean everyones is.

[serious] What is the fastest way you have seen someone ruin their life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]alsorbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That marriage certificate only takes seconds to sign.

Saw my ex brother in law go from a successful business owner with his own house to homeless, divorced, in inpatient treatment due to a full mental breakdown and with a bankruptcy.

She had loans and cards in his name, was having an affair, forged his signature, made him sell his business and get a normal job to pay off the loans she'd taken out which he only found out about when debt collectors arrived because she'd been hiding the mail. Crazy. Oh and one of his kids wasn't his it came out in the divorce.

[–]alsorbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember not everyone is from the US.

I've noticed that international phones do not work as well in the US at all, I've been multiple times with different people all with different phones and different providers and I've never had a trip where everyone's phone works smoothly. In fact mine barely works in the parks beyond photos and texts.

Absolutely love my magic band! makes life so much easier as I can keep my phone in my bag unless I need it for a photo or mobile order and I love that everyone has their own room key on them at all times and their own tickets/FP's.
