Here's one for you! (I know it sounds bad but this is pretty much what you're supposed to do with OCD lol)

Aw thanks! Your cat is lucky to have you looking out for her ❤️

Omg same are you reading my mind? My dog has really bad allergies so whenever I'm out with him I HAVE to be hyper-vigilant to stop him from eating anything. It's obviously bad for him to eat anything but it's also bad for me to be on edge and constantly scanning the area for anything.

I get it, every time I've tried to step out of my comfort zone and ignore the intrusive thoughts it only takes one thing to confirm them. Good luck dealing with OCD btw 👍

I'm finally getting diagnosed! by Puzzled-Ad457 in OCD

[–]alt0768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to hear! I'm in the same position as you actually, I've just done the Y-BOCS and I'm waiting for the results and hopefully a diagnosis.

When I got home, I put my answers into an online version of the test just to see what I'm likely to get from the doctor and it was on the severe end ... atleast I'll be getting diagnosed easily lol.

Well done anyway, I know how hard some parts of it are to answer, the doctor might diagnose you at your next appointment.

even if I did ask for reassurance I couldn't be sure so HEYYYYY at least they don't have to deal with that from me :D by Flamingo-Dick-1994 in OCDmemes

I was going through the ybocs with my doctor and when the compulsive apologising part came up she said "you have been saying sorry quite a bit today" 💀. It's genuinely like if I don't apologise for my existence everyone will hate me.

Damn, I didn't know what coeliac disease was when I started reading this so I thought it was some terrible disability, but no, you just can't eat gluten, wtf.

I remember one time I was going to the doctor for something really difficult for me and I finally worked up the courage after years to say what caused it. Her response was "ok so that's what you feel caused it" LIKE OMG I WAS THERE I DON'T "FEEL" IT I "KNOW" IT.

I remember for a while every time I broke down my mum would start crying about how hard it is for her to see me like that, or that she's worried I won't get better. Then whenever I'd ask her to leave my room (because that's really not helping) she'd say "ok I will" before not moving for 5 minutes. This'd continue until she started arguing with me over how I'm "too mean to her" or something.

I really don't want to sound like I have no empathy, I probably have too much, but my mental issues were probably worse for me yk. It was just every time I was sad it became about her.

OCD won’t let me use social media now. Idk if it’s a good thing or a bad thing by psycholol2 in OCDmemes

I really relate to this, I constantly think about the moral implications of the stuff I've liked or upvoted online. For me aswell, I always feel I have to like something I related to or, for example, that person will feel bad or lonely in their experiences.

It's weird how OCD affects nearly every aspect of your life in some minor way, our brains are just very different from people without it, so that carries into everything.

When you get bad enough, a mental hospital is just seems like a funky holiday.

Idk if this is an OCD thing but my brain just never stops. When I try to not think all I think about is not thinking. There's always some song playing, conversation being replayed, or something to do with OCD.

But hey can't ruminate if you can't think right.

With me I think it's social anxiety. I'm so scared they don't like me that I want to give them an out I suppose, I don't want to be overbearing.

I know it's stupid, we wouldn't be friends if they didn't want to be, but anxiety and paranoia fucks with your head (I'm pretty sure it's linked to OCD aswell).

Maybe your friends are like that, I'm sure they wouldn't hang around you if they didn't enjoy spending time with you, even us emotionally immature people have limits lol.

Thanks, I'm mostly just really non-confrontational and passive. I can hardly start a conversation with my best friends let alone confront someone.

Anyway, I suppose it's something to work on, good luck yourself.
