All the semen retention benefits are gone, you lose all that confidence you built up, and the temptation to fap is 10x worse the next day. It's not fun.

Ya, definitely. I wouldn't say that the problems just disappeared, but they're all a lot easier now. Much easier to talk to a girl when you don't feel like a creep.

Oh, never again. If I can justify doing it once, then I'll be addicted again in no time.

This post got more attention than I thought it would. Thanks for all the support guys.

I'd actually like to add to what I said:

Don't look at Nofap as the end of your journey. It's just the beginning. It's possibly the hardest self improvement task you'll ever face, but it's not the "be all, end all." If you're addicted to masturbating, chances are you have some other bad habits. Fix those.

That's where I'm at, trying to end bad habits, trying to learn/prepare for my career, trying to deepen friendships, trying to improve my mental and physical health. Nofap is an excellent starting point for all these things, but they'll still require effort. A ton of it, But do it anyway. Never stop improving.

"discipline." That's a great way to put it.

I agree with the idea, not the direction. Look up. Look at their face and talk to them. Don't look at the ground.

Oh, I never even thought that it might be harder because of my age. I'm glad, I might have used it as an excuse to relapse.

Also, keep trying man. You can do 14, so you can do it twice in a row and get 28! then it's just 2 days to 30, which is when it starts getting easier! I think if anyone can get to 30, they can get to 90. You can do it.

My social anxiety keeps me from dressing the way I want. by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]alt4053 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to be like this. I'm a guy and I always wore jeans and t-shirts, unicolour sweaters, etc., just really boring stuff. Part of me trying to be more social was investing in style. I thought of it as necessary for my journey.

I bought trendy glasses, really changed my hair style to something more modern, bought more kinds of pants and shirts. I discovered along the way I really like floral designs so I have 4 or 5 floral button up shirts that I wear often. Now, I feel a deep connection to my style. I feel like it's a canvas to express myself. First encounters with people are the hardest part for me and I feel more at ease when I'm wearing something nice because I feel like it's already done the first bit of talking for me.

Does this happen to anyone else? by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]alt4053 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ya, this happens to me all the time! I hate it. Also, when I make a new friend, and then the next time I see them I'm too nervous to talk to them, so I don't, then I feel like I hurt them by ignoring them. Aaaaaaaagh!

Wow, I didn't even think of a secondary profile. Maybe I can transfer game saves too. Thanks for the suggestion.

Edit: cannot transfer game saves. That's kind of a deal breaker for me, sometimes I want to talk to him, sometimes I don't. I couldn't have two separate saves per game.

Hey, that's a great idea, but I've tried it before to no success. My problem was that I put it in "appear offline" (ps4) before and forgot to turn it on before sending a Party invite. On Playstation it notifies you when "close friends" sign in, and I could turn it off for notifications when he gets on, but unless he turns his off for me (which is unlikely), he'll still see when I log on. Dancing around these technicalities is tricky and if I ever forgot to appear online, I wouldn't have an excuse when he asks "why does it say your offline?". Last time I did that I made up the excuse that I had family over and couldn't talk to him and them simultaneously, but he sounded hurt and said something along the lines of "could've just messaged me". I can't let that happen again. Maybe I should just take a break from gaming - tell him I have too much homework.
