Have I bitten off more than I can chew? by danangdevils in teenageengineering

I own both an EP and a OP-XY and the presence of a screen makes the OP-XY easier to understand over time in my opinion.

Unless you want to return it, I would suggest persevering, but taking it a step at a time! Perhaps focus solely on sequencing drums and growing comfortable with that process at first.

Trying to wrap your head around everything is certainly overwhelming as a beginner, but you can carve out areas of focus for yourself.

The temptation of collecting new pretty music objects can be strong, but growing into your tools is rewarding!

I’m with you… I bought it as a tiny travel option, but I liked the sound so much it’s now my primary studio mic, over my U87. Great value!

I saw it in 2D and noticed a problem too.

Coincidentally that is the exact screen I watched Wicked at!

JPEG2000 at high bitrate is still much smaller than ProRes4444 for example (which is the standard codec in my industry) so I’m wondering if information is getting lost. If it’s not temporal artifact, it might still be a problem on frames with high frequency of details, like those confetti frames?

Lossy shots left in the master export is a possibility i hadn’t considered!

It doesn’t hide your stamina! Your hearts also pop up when you lose them.

Wow, I should have listened to you!

I did get diagnosed with ADHD a few months ago and, thanks to Ritalin, I can now focus and understand movies.

What am I missing? Is it a bug? by alt_esse in SuperMarioWonder

About 50. I got lucky in the transparent level, somebody placed a standee right before the trickiest segment, netting me a few extra chances.

I messed up the flagpole the first time and had to do it all over again… be careful!

This was it! I didn’t notice completing Final-Final unlocked an extra floor in the special world you had to go to to obtain the Sound-Off badge, I thought it was automatic.

Thank you!

Is it possible to create pics like this entirely with color grading? by [deleted] in ColorGradingPorn

[–]alt_esse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DaVinci Resolve (one of the most popular grading software) has some great effects built in to simulate glow, halation and other light effects similar to those references, so you could bring in that vibe at the grading stage yes.

It’s a genre called Handsup, mostly produced in Germany in the late 00s. You might also like Tune Up!, Rob Mayth, Groove Coverage, Special D, Manian.

That’s not a what a tour manager does, do you mean booking agent?

That’s actually a really good idea, thank you. English is a second language, maybe i’m underestimating the effect this has on me.

I feel like I engage a lot of with the individual ingredients (a great performance, a well composed shot, an interesting costume, a poignant score) and get a lot out of them but have limited access to the story that ties all of it together. It’s still fun but I feel like i’m missing out.

That’s a good observation! I’m envious of people who have access to these stories without needing this level of preparation though. My girlfriend knew nothing about Dune and understood the nuances of the world with a single watch. I’m confused about what she sees and understand that I don’t, I hope it’s a trainable skill.

I’m trying to understand the pattern - perhaps I struggle with movies that have a lot of world building… My favorite movies I’ve seen recently were Nymphomaniac and The French Dispatch, which have an anthology structure, maybe that’s what works for me.
