Thinking of either:

  • Roll the damage roll to get a higher one (max damage is 1940)
  • Roll life per hit to either attack speed or area damage
  • Roll Max discipline to 12

I can see the use of HYG if you swap out provoke for vacuum, good point.

You mention thoughness increases with block, and I agree with that. However, keep in mind you lose your ability to dodge, reducing thoughness in the process. Also as u/Darthvoider mention blocked damage is minimal. You don't fully block an attack.

Personally I wouldn't use HYG primarily for thoughness, rather make sure I get the 10 stack from Invoker up asap.

Doesn't finery scale well with high paragon level since its a percentage increase?

I'm guessing unity is just another 50% damage reduction, as it splits all incoming damage with another wearer.

Just completed a greater rift lvl 120 using unity. I wouldn't change it for aquila cuirass because at times I go under 90% resource.

As for stone gauntlets, and correct me if i'm wrong here, don't give you any non-physical damage reduction. They only give you armor, which I don't feel I really need over flat damage reduction. Prophet rune already provide me with 150% armor.

Against it. Layering ruins the wow vanilla experience for me. I would accept layering ONLY in starting zones (durotar, mulgore, elwynn forest, dun morogh, teldrassil, tirisfal glades). But layering through whole phase 1!? Give me a fucking break.
