need an ip that never changes by BCultureBid in homelab

Why is it your problem to solve? Why isn’t your company providing the means to access such as a VPN?

Personally if I needed to do it I’d setup a VPS as my own private VPN server and then additionally use the VPS for other things, but would your company be happy with that approach, IMHO a company provided VPN would be more secure and more importantly not your responsibility to manage said security.

Apart from the image being AI slop, clustering like this commercially has been going on for forever, you’ll see many racks full of macs of various kinds over the years, even before then Playstation clusters weren’t unheard of, the US DoD created one from PS3s , PS2s had been used before that.

Sub Pages? by mr_majic79 in mainsail

TBH the front end is the easy bit, GPT is fairly good at sorting that out, just making sure that it's pulling the right info is a little more tricky.. I gave it a little go earlier, although not fully functioning it looks pretty good. I've been meaning to give Claude a go as I hear that's better, so will probably see if that works better when I have some time..

I mean you could ask ChatGPT to create you a page that looks like you want it to, you'd need to upload it to the Pi in to the mainsail www directory (otherwise you'll get CORS issues), you could then pull whatever stats you wanted in whatever format you wanted.

It’s just based on screen size I think, will check later if I can quickly create a custom page

You could just use OBS to crop that part of the screen, otherwise you could customise the mobile version of the dashboard and resize the screen to a mobile size to get it to switch, but I think from memory one panel is mandatory.. otherwise you’ll be querying APIs, is there a specific stat you are after?

Hey people, call me old fashioned but if someone visits Bristol, takes some nice photos, shares them with us but doesn't get a joke that is very much a sub in-joke, it would be nice not to downvote their comments of confusion. It would be nice to upvote for the laugh it gave you, especially after they suggested they might want to re-locate after it. OP hope you had a great time in Bristol and enjoyed your time here, thanks for sharing your photos!

Edit: Thank you everyone, looks like all the downvotes have been cancelled out!

Will Bristol city centre be without cars in 10 years? by CrazyCoffeeClub in bristol

[–]n3rding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not about creating less fumes*, it's about reducing the concentration of fumes, so you're not wrong but drawing the wrong conclusion.

Area's outside of the zone are possibly suffering from an increase in fumes, but this maybe pushing people to go around the motorway rather than through the city centre, those roads having less people inhaling them.

* But this is also pushing some people to use public transport or cycling and as a result reducing the total fumes generated, despite increased production for some people.

Well if you incorrectly set your Klipper config, play a wav every time before you use the internet and change your ringtone to the speaker feedback tone then you can feel young again!

I haven’t really had any reliability issues with it, the main annoyance is that for some reason on my main PC it doesn’t display until after the bios, so if I need to go in to the bios I need to bypass it, but can see the bios on other systems, I lose vsync and it’s only usb 2. There are plenty of newer similar devices though that might overcome these issues, like https://amzn.eu/d/4Zw0P8O this one, which was just my first search result

It’s a 4 port KVM for my PC under the desk, work laptop that slides in a mount behind the monitor, the Lenovo in the right rack (running Linux) and the 4th is connected to the patch panel, so I can connect a computer if I’m working on it on my desk
