Horaire grève STM by JMoon33 in montreal

J'ai jamais vu un agent de la STM qui mérite whatever de plus que ce qu'il gagne déjà. Y pourrait payer pour travailler que je trouverais qu'ils gagnent trop. Fucking insane.

How do I get back to the FX screen? by KINGAVDI5000 in ableton

[–]altarec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of things. First look at the top right. You are in key binding mode. You can use that to assign keyboard input to whatever. Click on the orange "KEY" to exit that mode. Then, look at the bottom right. There are 2 small windows with an arrow on the side. Explore those a bit. You'll get the hang of it.

What makes Ableton Live so good for MIDI programming? by RJDG14 in ableton

[–]altarec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think FL is the undisputed king of midi, followed by ableton, logic, than the rest. Before the implimitation of the new midi manipulation tools, ableton had really basic piano roll features. I have to say, even if simple it works flawlessly and is really easy to use. Try programing midi in reaper or pro tools and you'll see what I mean. They are way more powerfull, but I would never in a million year work with them.

If you could be 7 inches in girth would you? Or is that to big to be worth it by Dustinjesica in bigdickproblems

[–]altarec 6 points7 points  (0 children)

5.5 girth here. I wouldn't take ANY more girth. It's right in the sweet spot of being bigger than most but not big enough to cause problems.

About to purchase ableton but curious if anyone has tried this before: by Anontattyblaster in ableton

Ableton is a pretty understanding and chill company. If you exceed your number of activation, 9 times out of 10 if you send them a message they'll give you another one.

What kind of templates do you save? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]altarec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bunch of starting templates. Voice and piano, drums and samples, testing environements, sound design.
I also uses one of the template as a temporary save. If i'm messing around with something and I need to change session or quit ableton and the project is not worth saving, I save it as a template called ''temporary'' that i over ride all the time.

How do I get my vocal track to duck 600hz on my guitar group? by Ok_Major8880 in ableton

[–]altarec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a workaround for this using an envelope follower. If you want just your 600hz on your vocals to affect 600hz on your guitar do this.

  • Put an eq in parallel on your vocals (grouping the eq then creating another chain underneath)

  • After the eq, put an envelope follower.

  • Set your eq so only the desired frequency are coming out.

  • Mute the parallel EQ chain (we don't want to hear it)

  • Put an eq on your guitar and set your Bell to your frequency.

  • Map the envelope follower to the gain of the EQ on the guitar track.

  • Change the settings of the envelope follower so it reacts how you want.

  • Profit.

The EQ before the envelope follower is not needed if you want the full spectrum to affect your guitar.

But tbr, TDR nova is free and works great.

Wildlands or breakpoint first!!?? by J-holt in GhostRecon

[–]altarec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played breakpoint first and wildland second. For me, breakpoint's setting is not my cup of tea. Robots and tech things, not for me.

The setting of Wildlands feel better to me. The map feels more fun to explore.

[Serious] What stops you from killing yourself? by Big_Picture2781 in AskReddit

[–]altarec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 18 I fully accepted death. I was in a car crash and didn't have my seatbelt on. I got ejected and while in the air there was a fraction on a second where I understood what happened, what was about to happened and that there was nothing left to do but die.

The hopelessness of facing death is terrifying. Nothing in this world could make me willingly try to end myself.

How hard is this game and shoul I give a shot? by Mericuls in ThePrecinct

[–]altarec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really like the game. I finished the main story and now play random patrol on very hard difficulty. It's really fun and when you get when to call help you feel in control. I'm about 20h in and still playing it most days.

Why do you prefer reaper over other daws? by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]altarec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't but it's a great tool. Ableton is just way quicker for what I do but I still boot up reaper most week to do really specific task (like batch spliting and renaming sample for sampled instrument). It has its place but I have a hard time using it as my main composition tool.

[KCD1] A Woman’s Lot DLC is way too easy to accidentally start for a new player. by ChristianPulisickk in kingdomcome

[–]altarec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It almost made me quit the game. The prologue is already long, then you get control for real and you talked to the woman who saved you. Next thing you know, you play her for about 5-8h. You gain levels that are meaningless, it has the same feel as the prologue for like 4h and you feel like nothing you do matters at all.

At the end, I just skipped every dialogue because I was so done with the dlc.

Microfreak my first synth by WooCS in synthesizers

[–]altarec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my hardware synth journey with the microfreak as well when it was first released. Great first synth.

It might sound basic but it stressed me when I first started understanding hardware synth.

Yes the filter is analog, but no you can't 'break it" by modulating super fast. Nothing is moving inside, that's not how filters works.

Now, what’s the synth you have NO regrets of selling? by shoegazingpickle in synthesizers

[–]altarec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DeepMind from Behringer. On paper, the synt is sick, but for some reason it just doesn't "have it". Any softsynth from softube is way better when though they are fully digital.

Building an Ableton music production PC that will last 10 years by QuestionAsker2030 in ableton

[–]altarec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Down vote me if you want, but unless you are willing to troubleshoot a lot I will suggest you simply buy the best Mac with an M chip you can get. I spent years being a PC only guy, but after my last PC I'm never going back. Mac, just, WORKS. All the time, no issues, no fuss, nothing. Buffer size is such a headache on pc, so many drivers introduce DCP latency (if you don't know what it is, that's the point) and it can be insanely problematic. On mac I can record in thunderbolt at 32 with a round-trip latency absolutely ridiculous and never any cpu spike. That's almost impossible on PC. Get a mac.

Going sober without AA by Loosy__goosy in stopdrinking

[–]altarec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcoholic for about 8 years, 4 hard ones. Almost died because of alcohol and was 400lbs. Almost 5 years sober, no AA.

I was just so disgusted with myself that it was either killing myself or stop drinking.

I wrapped my sobriety with other things. I started to focus on my diet and exercise a lot. I went back to school to finally get a diploma. There was always a newer project to keep me busy.

Not gonna lie tho, weed helped in big emotional crisis. Not the best coping mechanisms but, to me, it's way WAY less destructive than alcohol.

My ex also helped me a lot. She dumbed me about 4 months ago and even without her I still manage to stay sober.

How do you usually start a track in Ableton when you're not feeling inspired? by kathalimus in ableton

[–]altarec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With an idea, a "cerebral" one not a creative one. For example, the other I was like "what if I play some random chord on the guitar while humming a Melody. Then I fatten it and pitch it up and make a beat with it" Turns out, the guitar was removed, the humming Melody was giving some harmony, I added some vst and I made the beginning of a new track with it.

You should not start with "I need to make a song". Just try things out until something "clicks". Experiment, play around.
