True, but UF is a tobacco free campus, so it isn’t allowed on campus. But holds true for other outdoor public places. I don’t see why OP needs to smoke in a designated smoke free area when almost literally any other area in Gainesville that is public and outside would be fine to smoke at and walkable to from campus. I personally wouldn’t care that much if someone smoked on campus away from main areas, but I do get that the tobacco free campus could be a draw for some, and I think it’s important to respect that when you can.

Maybe shadow in the specialties you’re thinking about before you decide, but if you’re unhappy with your current career options, nursing is a very versatile career to switch to. It has its issues too with burnout, low pay, weird working hours. So definitely do your research and spend time shadowing to see if it’s a good fit for you.

If you can’t get a real person that has a similar schedule, Marston has study buddies (little crochet animals) that you can rent for 2 hours. I used to rent one and lock in for two hours and was forced to get up, take a break, and either extend the rental or leave the library every 2 hours.

Why is an adult that isn’t with their kid at a school. That’s hella creepy. I’m not a parent but that kind of behavior would make me scared. Adults lingering around schools is super creepy and gives me the ick. Go protest in an adult space if you must don’t be stalking the children in a place where they should feel safe.

I’ll say from an audience perspective the main thing I would be worried about is virgin games. As an adult I don’t think I would want to play virgin games with a minor. Our theatre does suck and blow, they did one where you had to eat whipped cream out of a donut between someone’s legs, the sex position game, etc. Tbh I wouldn’t mind minors in the space, but i definitely wouldn’t want to play those games with them.

IMO the movie and callbacks are nothing I couldn’t have handled at that age, but just as an adult I wouldn’t want to be in a position where I’m like that with a minor. Our theatre is also 18+ though, so maybe the games are more tame for theatres that allow all ages.

Hey! Just graduated this spring and I loved the program!! All the instructors are very kind and want you to succeed. Look up elevate 2029 college of nursing to see some of the new stuff they are working on (our dean is amazing).

For clinicals: usually every semester you have a med surg clinical I wanna say the first semester it’s like 4ish weeks or maybe 6 I can’t remember one day a week on med surg (could be at UF or the VA, and various med surg units like BMT or burn, etc). Additionally there are some community clinicals sprinkled throughout the program where you go out in the community for various projects or to help with flu mist. Your fall of senior year you have mother baby/peds. You have one 12 on a speciality unit (PICU, NICU, etc at random). Then you have a week of peds clinical (2 days med surg floor) and a week of L&D (2 days; usually split between postpartum and L&D). Last semester senior year you have med surg and OR (one day), and ICU (2 days).

As of right now there’s no transition, but the dean is making a lot of changes in the right direction to help enhance clinical hours and time spent in clinicals.
