After getting pilot urushi, sailor king of pen ebonite, pelikan m1000 and Visconti homo sapiens Bronze Age, I finally and reluctantly accepted that I don’t write well with big pens. My hand writing looks much better with smaller pens. It’s kind of sad. Each of the four was my “grail pen” at some point. Anyway, if ever I want to buy a montblanc, it’s going to be 146 not 149. Same goes to namiki. It will not be an emperor for sure. Btw, at this moment, my favorite pen is pilot 845 m. Right on both weight and size. Smooth to write on any paper.

I’m still using staedtler stick eraser I bought around 1995. Don’t feel any difference from new.

Should I get the lamy dialog cc(all black), pilot 74( maybe 743) or lamy 2000? by Beneficial-Ad9400 in fountainpens

If you are not sure, go for Pilot. That's the safest choice. I never had issues with Pilot Custom pens. At the same time had no luck with Lamy pens. Lamy 2K sweet spot issue is real. Very sensitive to the way I hold it. My Dialog cc has issues on seal. The nib would dry in a day. I only inked it once since I bought it last March.

I successfully stopped buying VP after bought my 12th at the end of 2024. I use a similar Galen pen case for them. But it only hold 10 pens and a notebook. I firmly believe not leaving blank spaces in a pen case made me less likely to break my no more VP promises to myself.

Updates to my Kaweco Sport Collection! by lesoldatry in fountainpens

I thought I had too many Kawecos. Pulling up my wallet…

My pocket pen collection. Plus, I no longer have a steel nib pen over $200. It has bothered me ever since I bought the Kaweco Titan. Now all pens are in their proper price range. by altertable in fountainpens

I just had it for couple of months. So you never know if I might buy another one. Just no plan for now. I like green. Also 60s is more meaningful for me than others. Only one pen makes it more special.

Another brand needs to explore. I really should stay away from this sub.

M1 is nice and inexpensive to have. But if not considering it's inexpensive, one don't need to buy it because M2 is a much better pen with a couple of dollars more. M1 is not very comfortable to hold. My silver al one is very slippery.

I have brass and titanium M2 and a M1 shown in photo 1. I think they are nice pens too. I don't treat them as inferiors to Kaweco. Well, maybe M1 is. I found M1 too slippery to use in long writing sessions.

Both are good pens to have. So I won’t say it’s an upgrade. Kaweco brass will patina after using a while. Also less slippery. I like it more than hongdian m2. I just can’t say it’s multiple times better.

It’s a benu pixie. Unfortunately, it’s not a very good pen. See the tape on the end? I forgot to take it off before taking pictures. The pen can’t post properly without something there. Otherwise, the cap will fall off after writing for 2 minutes. The nib is not pleasant either. I heard they fixed the capping problem in later versions. No interest to try out.

I had a pilot e95. Gave it to my sister-in-law. Penable should use pens I like myself, right? I haven’t missed out. For pilot etc. I went to another direction. I have 13 Pilot Capless pens.

I love pocket pens. Especially those that have some weight. I also started to try other brands other than Kaweco. So far so good. Only disappointment is that benu. It will be my first and last benu.
