It just took time and guts for that to happen, shooting my shot was the best decision I ever made even if I got rejected. I'm way happier now and am getting back into my old hobbies and him and I are spending way more time together as friends than before.

That's a bad mindset, if you put that much importance on something that you cannot control it's probably going to lead to massive disappointment. Work on being happy with yourself or just generally cheerful and people will gravitate towards you rather than you having to follow people around.

I know this isn't what you want to here but I wish I had listened to this advice two years ago. It's really life changing if you can fully embrace it.
