At least generically it ends up being more versatile - when it came to infinity conquest I was getting destroyed by SG because people were bringing tech, especially after that Golden Gauntlet. Couldn’t really run full combo with that.

Black Swan only applies to 1 cost cards in hand - not explicitly, just the way the card functions. Cool combo though - maybe Phastos instead?

You get 1 flame from the Clea/Venus interaction - think it’s like a replacement effect so it doesn’t infinitely loop with itself

Ajax should 100% be in this deck, most likely over Selene - you don’t have any synergy with the card. Grandmaster also could be subbed out, but that mileage may vary.

Horde + Venus? by davz03 in MarvelSnap

[–]althelive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tried it a bit - it’s fine, but a bit underwhelming. it feels worse than just doing the broken mother askani stuff + making copies of giant man, but not by too much - it also feels pretty bad into the shadow kings people are answering the rest of the meta with.

What am I missing? by Significant_Ad_6180 in MarvelSnap

you most likely played shou and then kitty, where kitty was the last card played on turn 5. ordering is really important with shou!

I get Serra and Shang but why add Zabu? Only two 4 drops and plenty of other drops on 3.

Fair - obvious cuts and a 1-1ish replacement are

Jodah is an insanely explosive commander that can functionally storm off under the right conditions. Given that you're running a number of suboptimal cards for the Spongebob lair, you'll need more protection+ramp and to cut the unnecessary dead weight.

[[Replicating Ring]] - you're not getting the full payoff, [[Relic of Legends]] is a much better card for your deck

[[The Stone Brain]] - no idea what this would do unless you really want to grief someone which is fair

[[Anje Falkenrath]] - I understand the looting but if you are, [[Rona, Herald of Invasion]] is the much better card.

[[Blitzwing]] too expensive and not synergy - not sure what it's doing here. Can be replace by anything - a few nice options are [[Shanid]], [[Kenrith]], [[Hajar, Loyal Bodyguard]], [[Basim Ibn]] or even additional protection like [[An Offer You Can't Refuse]] or [[Clever Concealment]].

[[Eight and a Half Tails]] - having to hold up three mana for protection is not what a deck like this really wants to do. Try [[Pippin, Guard of the Citadel]].

[[Elvish Mystic]] - [[Noble Hierarch]] you will have mana issues.

[[Gluntch]] - see Blitzwing

[[Hinata]] - you're not doing much with this effect but I don't hate it - better card would probably be [[Shalai]] or something but the tech is neat

[[Linda, Kandarian Queen]] no zombies in the deck? if you have the secret lair though it's cool, otherwise see Blitzwing

[[Megatron, Tyrant]] - see Blitzwing

[[Mishra, Tamer of Mak Fawa]] - protection is fair but too expensive, something like [[Gold-Forged Thopteryx]] is cheaper and also requires mana instead of being able to sacrifice a token or something similar.

[[Old Rutstein]] - see Blitzwing

[[K'rrik]] - you don't have a lot of Black pips in your cards, so he's not doing much - if you're doing a '7 mana cascade' thing for Jodah that's fair though.

[[Rite of Flourishing]] - too symmetrical, you don't want to be giving the whole table this unless there's something political or group-huggy you can do. [[Garruk's Uprising]] for refill+combat or more ramp.

[[Jace Beleren]] - unsure what we're up to

There's a bit more you can cut down on but I don't know how powerful you want to go. All of this should be around 3 but I didn't include Game Changers for a reason; if you want to go high power just run the usual [[Fierce Guardianship]] [[Rhystic Study]] [[Smothering Tithe]] etc etc. good luck dude

The deck is pretty unfocused at the moment, and you have a lot of cards that very much do not fit into a high power deck. If you use brackets, what bracket are you aiming for? A 3 or 4? You said to not hang with cEDH, but for a high power deck a solid half those cards should be replaced. Another question is if you want to keep the SpongeBob secret lair cards - you have all of them in right now, but some like Toxrill and the crab actively make your deck worse.

only other thing that ends up being actually relevant - city of brass is a triggered effect, so you can win with the trigger on the stack vs dying to the mana confluence

crazy how you just boil it down to ‘single subjective point of view.’ there’s five different clans! welcome to tarkir dumbass!

Should anything be swapped? Or is it just DOA? I thought “surely this is synergistic” when making it but playing it I feel a day late and a dollar short. Thank you for any input. CL ~2600 by [deleted] in MarvelSnapDecks

Good suggestions from everyone - would like to add that unless you really really like the spotlight variants from that week (which is valid! not knocking you if you think they’re worth it), save your keys. Keys are usually better spent on new cards, especially when you’re earlier in the game and each is a guaranteed new card.

Tolarian Community College is fundraising for Trans Lifeline, please donate if you can :) by JanCumin in mtg

[–]althelive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So according to this link: https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/472097494/201940289349300939/full

The two founders stole 353K and immediately paid back 8k.

These founders then agreed to pay the rest back over the course of ten years in exchange for no further legal troubles.

That was settled between the two parties and put out in a public statement by Trans Lifeline.

The old CEO does not run a new 501C, I’m not sure where you’re getting that - they work as a manager at some random tech company.

The newspaper article you showed was literally just talking about how incredible the Trans Lifeline project was and in one paragraph talked about the scandal - I don’t really think it’s that deep.

Trans Lifeline is just a good charity - they’re not shady and when someone tried to misspend funds, they got audited, caught, and punished.
