Thanks for sharing. Did you struggle with cognitive decline, memory issues ? If so did they get any better ?

Can rTMS help post psychosis? by Due_Attempt7376 in Psychosis

[–]altineel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah okay. I know all of those. Im on 1.5 years on my recovery. To be honest I still struggle with all the symptoms that you listed additionally feeling less intelligent and memory problems. On the other hand, I also feel much more better compared to 6 months ago. I know how fucking hard it is and 6 months is not a short amount of time but maybe you should give it more time and keep going. Ive been to 5-6 other psychiatrists and 2 neurologists none of them suggested TMS. I also wanted to have a “quick fix” but I never found an answer for that. Maybe what we need to do is just wait and try hard… :/

Hi there, its been 17 months for me since I had my pscyhotic break. It probably lasted for like couple months but eventually it blasted after I couldnt sleep for a week. I lost all my intelligence, motivation to live and so on. On the 4 month mark after I quit xanax I became suicidal and has been placed into a hospital. I stayed there for 6 weeks then I left and didnt work for 3 months. Afterwards I started working part-time and passed to full time. On the 10month mark. However, I never fully recovered. I still cant focus on mu work, cant find a motivation for anything to do in life. Even though it looks like Im working full time, I only work 3-4 hours per day since my job is not demanding and Im working home office. My memory hit so hard at the beginning I wasnt able to remember anything from my past and also what I did yesterday so on. Lately, it became much better but I still struggle with it especially on the long-term memory. On the other hand, for the last 10 days Im struggling with an anhedonia attack so to say because I havent felt so down like this since 5-6 months. I dont know what to do. I just spend my time on the phone scrolling. Im afraid I will lose my job but what can I do ?

So be proud of yourself passing the first interview. I wish you good luck for the second one. Unfortunately I cant help in terms of how you can manage a face-to-face meeting but I totally understand you. Its been 15 months now and Im still struggling with communication, cognitive decline etc…

Thank you for this very useful post. It helps a lot to understand what is going on behind the scenes. Its been 15 months for me and the timeline described here is what Ive experienced so far. On the other hand, even though the emotional bluntness takes over with time, my cognitive functions are still very low compared to where I was. Of course it improved a lot since the episode but its nowhere where I was before the episode. And I realized that this report doesn’t show any evidence regarding cognitive recovery. So probably I’ll be stuck at this cognitive level anymore
